And if you don't mind some shilling, the aspects you mention for Haikyuu are basically the same beats slam dunk hits. Strong character development and a smaller but decent ensemble cast with likeable rivals. Despite the sport it has less in common with Kuroko for instance. --- |

One of the most amazing stretches of 10 episodes ever. Keeping up with the manga but I still can't wait for S4! If you haven't read Slam Dunk though I would highly recommend it. Anime is incomplete and I can't speak to the quality of what's there either. --- |
