At my job, the men used to get a better bathroom schedule because the cleaning staff used to clean the women's bathroom right after lunch and close it so women need to wait. Now they alternate so sometimes men have to wait. Guys I know were outrage. I told them it's fair because now we're the same as the women. The same type of shit got that guy from Google fired and people were ok with that. Statistical examples are true, but it bothers people because they see individual exceptions to it all the time. Yes, you'll find women who are taller than men, but on average, that's unlikely. Personally, I like to make the argument less dependent on averages and stereotypes. Men have a y chromosome. Men naturally have male reproductive organs. Men have these things happen to their body during puberty. Instead of looking at it as what is the probability that the individual sperm that made you, made it to the egg, look at it as the probability that any sperm made it to the egg in the number of times your parents banged. Yes, the probability of any one event happening is astronomically small, but remember that something has to happen. Imagine if you flip a coin a million times. Whatever sequence you got at the end, has an extremely small chance of happening. However, one of the outcomes need to happen, so it happens even though the probability of any one of the outcomes is astronomically small. If you want a smaller scale example, think about a deck of cards. What is the chance you draw the ace of spades? 1/52. Well...dang it that's a really small probability. Shouldn't something of higher probability happen? Well every other outcome is also 1/52. You can't say you won't draw a card because the chance of any of the individual outcomes are too small. Normal-Democrats. They won't go out of their way to help you most of the time, but they don't go around hating on minorities. Worst-Bigotry, anti-social programs (also Republicans) I'm in favor of Democrats myself and like to give Republicans a hard time, but I always have a soft spot for the good Christians.
