I don't suppose your genius has considered that there are some jobs essential and vital to the function of society, such that if people didn't work those jobs, there would be relative chaos?

never said people shouldn't work those jobs and its obvious that they do and benefit from it. what i point out is that when a person's ambition and abilities exceed those vital jobs, which are usually simple in nature, they SHOULD transition out of it and into something hopefully more meaningful where they feel in optimal control of their life. and yes life and not career path because what else is life but how you spend the majority of your day, after day, after day. the cycle always ensures that younger less experienced people shift into those roles when needed.

Soviet_Poland posted...
There are about a million physicians in the U.S. to the 325 million people. Now, it's a really crude analysis because there is a varying breakdown of specialists, but for the sake of argument, that means 1 doctor to 325 people.

Logistically speaking, if doctors didn't work the insane hours they did, there would be gaps in access to medical care. And I know your bitch ass would be crying for one of those surgeons who is a "fucking sheep" if your appendix burst, and I can only imagine your reaction if you were unable to get into the operating room in time because their answer was, "sorry I'm not a fucking sheep, see me next week...if you survive that long that is."

A ridiculous example, but highlights how stupid your post is. Compare this with firefighters, police officers, pilots, paramedics, you name it. Most of these areas don't have the resources to handle all the work that needs to be done.

You think you're deep, but all it does is come off as clueless.

surgeons do what they do after years of calculated effort to achieve their career. they had to have ambition and the ability to get there and fine for them. im opposed to people doing shit they don't care for and encourage them to change it. so for example its a fact that doctors in europe have fled big government nations to freer nation to pursue their career as they want. whether that means private practice that rakes in tons of money in plastic surgeries or joining doctors without borders and donating much of their services around the globe - its up to them - they're in control. fuck the idea that you push a quota on a surgeon against his will to "fill the needs" of society. its been tried and people rightly flee from setups like that.

Is the general idea that people should try to do something fulfilling in their lives? Either through the work they do, or through their life outside of work?

If so, yes I agree

work is such a huge part of modern life that if it isn't where you're getting your fulfillment then something is grossly wrong. minimize it, escape it, or simply have productivity and money earned through what your passionate about instead of a "tolerable" job.

okay.

the thought goes like this: people from 12 years of daily school experience growing up are then conditioned to handle 8+ hour work days at whatever job, more or less, contently. nah fuck that.

so im not against earning a living or productivity, but always attempt to do that shit with as little drudgery as possible. and yeah i literally think if u work 8 hours a day and "tolerate" it you're a fucking sheep (exception being you have a definite plan to get the fuck out of there when u got the resources to pursue something important and are individually in control)

i feel like most people are confused at others who want to escape "work" time or minimize it as much as possible.

"i wouldn't know what to do with myself if i didn't have a job literally sucking up 10 hours of my day" (factoring in commute time, breaks, overtime over time)

every day i get older is every day i lose patience for anything that eats 1 minute of my time doing something tedious and unwanted. im at war with drudgery and the masses of people thinking that's okay and a natural part of life. boringness and downtime is a thing, but fuck filling my adult life with drudgery day after day.

you know how people say, "wow time just flies by. i can't believe 10 years have passed. years are going quick" it has nothing to do with being adult versus how u were as a child, not primarily at least. its because you got a fucking routine of doing the same shit you don't like or are interested in on the daily. people at work tune the fuck out, work on minimal conscious input and let their bodies go through the motions. every day is more or less the same for years at a time so days and months and even years just blur together. just big blocks of time passing by at a faster perception rate and that's your life. fucking think about that and the wastefulness of being tolerant and unengaged at a job u go to for 8+ hour DAILY.

oh but here comes you're argument of, "i have that job because it affords me all this stuff on my off time! i have ____ girlfriend and money for a ______ vacation and i go to events every now and then go to a ______ concert and comedy club"

yeah but that shit doesn't come close to how you spend every normal day. imagine if as just drops of vacation and leisure time in the sea of your daily "tolerable" job. fuck man how can u be okay with that?

if it means you cut you're total yearly income in half to do something you actually find interesting / engaging with bright awareness then that's blinding more correct to do. i would even use moralistic terms - you SHOULD do that and feel wrong if you're not trying for it.

tldr: get rekt read my post.

There is at least one documented case of a killer using a first-person shooter game to improve his combat skills. According to the Guardian, the Norwegian shooter Anders Breivik told the court in 2012 that he used "a holographic aiming device" in the game "Call of Duty" to develop his target acquisition abilities.
Breivik played a two-dimensional game, but virtual reality can take skill acquisition to a new level. Players can look all around the scene instead of just staring at a screen. Handheld devices vibrate to simulate touch. Most importantly, players use their arms and body to engage in actual combat moves, instead of just hitting buttons. As a result, the brain's motor system is engaged. Repeated movement while in virtual reality causes changes in brain structure, which in turn improves performance in the real world.

NEETs are people who don't want to work.

People who are graduated and can't find a job while looking don't deserve the NEET label.

so i've taken the NEET definition unto myself by its exact meaning without the huge connotations attached to it.

last time i held a regular job was in 2016. wasn't looking for another regular job since that time hence my NEET label. did a few gigs for cash when i needed to.

since i was out of HS i held lots of jobs for usually 1 year at least. gaps between those jobs so i was an on and off NEET

i've been to college and taken a few classes too.

some people think NEET is a dude held up in one room only ever leaving it to use the bathroom and go right back to that same room. that isn't me.
