Wasteland 2 and Fallout 4 play pretty differently. One is an isometric cRPG with turn-based grid combat while the other is a first/third-person shooter with some RPG mechanics. I really liked WL2, but its biggest flaw, I'd say, was how most regions are pretty isolated; there's little interaction between them and your actions don't have far-reaching consequences.

Anyway, this bundle is about remakes, reimaginings, or sequels of classics rather than classic games themselves. I think they've all come out within the past ten years or so, maybe less.

They made some of the characters look a bit cheesy trying to make them look so close to the source characters

Having exaggerated body and facial language doesn't translate very well to live action either.

I was considering going all the way through Animaniacs, got about fifteen episodes in, stopped for a while, come back to find it gone. :-/

It feels awful. I'm not going to be able to get to the end, so my motivation to watch it has been kinda killed.

I'd like to, but I've never really been much of a binge watcher of shows. I'd go through one episode a day, three is the maximum.

I ended at I think the second- or third-last season when I was watching it at the same time as Buffy, which I also never ended up finishing. Just saw a notice at the top saying it was getting taken off on March 4th.

When I was a kid, my cousin used to pick me up and swing me around a bit all friendly like. I told her I hated her and I wish she'd die. She later did die in a car accident.

Ever since that, I avoid using strong language if I can, and if I get into a fight with someone I try to make up as soon as possible. I think it was yesterday or sometime this week that marked the 20th anniversary of her death. It always feels a little solemn this time of year.

I got it on release and it's really not all that engaging at all. It's nice they tried something new but it just makes each battle boring and the time it takes to get to each battle is filled with vast expanses of nothing.

Don't have an issue with that at all. Complete decriminalization of all drugs seems to be pushing it, though. Emphasis should be on treatment rather than incarceration, but I don't think that decriminalizing meth or heroin would be a good step.

I think it's because decriminalization can be seen as a step toward treatment. If you know you have a problem and want to seek help, you won't get arrested for having bought illegal drugs. It's part of the reason the safe injection sites have ended up pretty good.

I just don't fucking get this. Like, did the story of a 700 year old book suddenly change that they needed to NDA everyone?

NDAs can cover more than just story stuff, but without knowing what was actually in their contract, I can't say. My guess is they didn't even know who they were voicing until they actually got in the booth, and then had like one take each line to actually do it.

Her losing her debut fight was the biggest bullshit ever. I don't remember much of Frontier but I vaguely recall her being the most useless one of the group.

Fire Emblem is long-running enough that it's become impossible to please more than a third of the fanbase with each decision. I like the series, but there's a reason I don't really visit boards or join in any fan communities for it.

To do all the nodes you have to also perform all the failure events where you make a decision and the decision immediately destroys the world.

lol my favourite bad ending was when you decide to ditch saving the world to be with Raynie and those two kids were like "the fuck did you think would happen, asshole?"

It's not part of the story, it's something mentioned in the book short that introduces Yennefer.

Basically a lot of sorceresses were born deformed in some manner but they use magic to fix themselves up.

And Triss is the one who took advantage of an amnesiac Geralt to finally get into a relationship with a man she's been in love with for a long time and knowing that he only had eyes for her friend. She deliberately omitted any information about his past regarding Yennefer until he had already regained his memory and explicitly asked her. For a lot of people, it probably soured Triss in their eyes a little bit.

Well, personally I feel the open world doesn't really add anything to the game. Sieges are pointless because you can grapple up a castle and kill the commander and most other battles are a flat field with a target or two that you kill to finish the mission. There's a bunch of nothing in between points and it takes too long to traverse for little benefit. I've fallen through the floor once, which merely brought me back tog round level, and through bridges countless times, which means I need to swim to shore or find a cliff to grapple up. I've never really had that issue with previous DW games, probably because there's far fewer places they need to test collision.

Can't really say much of how it runs on console though because I'm playing on PC. It has some demanding settings, but turning off particle effects can net me almost perfect 60 on a 1080. It's not well optimised.

It's a heavily flawed game, but I don't know if I'd put much stock into Jim Sterling's impression on it. He's been a fan of many DW games, yes, but this one diverges from the formula. I think he's not a fan of open world stuff in general.

I know Hatred can let you finish people off for health, but I don't know if it operates under a point system.

You've got games like Bulletstorm that uses points that also operate as currency if I remember, but I don't think anyone begs for their life and there are certainly no children you can kill. Hell, games in general avoid the rewarding of harming or killing children precisely to avoid this kind of controversy, but it doesn't stop ignorant politicians from assuming the worst of them.

Warriors games have godawful game boards, but they're especially bad on or around release.

Anyway, I think my biggest complaint is how the grappling hook trivializes everything. Might have been better as some kind of consumable item because it's kind of hilarious how your whole army is trying to siege a single gate whole you climb up and assassinate an officer, causing the whole castle to surrender.

In Final Fantasy 5 they do try to use phoenix down and cast healing magic and it doesn't work, so I assume those things don't cure death, only KO

I liked the game but I didn't love it as much as others seemed to.

I was legit hoping it would tackle mental health issues or at least represent it in a realistic way and that's why I was hoping that's what the warning was about and not some of the more graphic aspects of the game.

I wanted to get Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, and while they look fun, they also look VERY repetitive and would get old pretty fast.

As someone who loves them both and likes the Warriors series in general, they are very repetitive. Sometimes it's just nice to play them while I have a show running in the background.

that's just the first cutscene i came across and it hasn't gotten better in the hourish i played last night.

I think part of it is also there's just no good way to deliver some of these lines.
