I'd accept SMO and P5 being #1 contenders or even favorites in certain years...not really sold on H:ZD hitting that same mark as well unless you're thinking 2009 against Modern Warfare 2 or 2012 against Borderlands 2. The last time we've seen first place do this to second place in an overall-GotY was 2014, when SSB4 nearly doubled Dragon Age: Inquisition. We also saw Skyrim nearly double LoZ:SS in 2011, ME2 nearly double SMG2 (with Pokemon HG/SS) in 2010, LoZ:TP easily doubled FF12 in 2006, and FFX nearly doubled GTA3 in 2001. If you think doublings are impressive, 2005 had RE4 tripling GoW in their overall-GotY...and brace yourself for Leonhart, because nothing beats FF8's even easier tripling of Soul Calibur in 1999. LoZ:BotW did set a new record on third place though, because it has over six times the votes of Cuphead. The last time we've seen first place do this to third place in an overall-GotY was NEVER. LoZ:BotW can be thankful SMO, H:ZD and N:A couldn't make the poll (and I wonder if M:SR could beat Cuphead too if LoZ wasn't in the poll), but we'll ignore that here! FF8 quadrupled WWF Wrestlemania 2000 in 1999...that was previously the best first place did on third place in an overall-GotY. He would ask women about her exes, then he'd act like he was friends with the exes while he'd look them up on FB and pick apart whatever infomation they made public like that's how they knew each other. He would also take their phones and text their exes about their sexual positions from her phone. If these exes resisted on this, he would threaten to hit these women (which he had a history of) and tell her parents they were fucking. Donald may have somehow beaten that, I dunno -- it's hard to compare perfectly, but it's gross as hell and it reminds me of this other guy who happened to be a huge Donald supporter too.
