5. The Ruined Dragon

There was no way a boss that looks this impressive was going to live up to expectations in a Mario game, but it felt like they barely tried to do anything cool with him and he was just another simple "wait then attack" boss. The rematch didn't fix the problem but it was at least a little harder.

6. Mecha Wiggler

This is a pretty fun fight and it's amazing visually, but the Sherm controls are probably at their worst here, hitting the boss is way more annoying than it should be. The rematch having a second Wiggler could have been used in interesting ways but it wasn't.

7. Torkdrift

Using Uproot in a boss was a fun idea, but it wasn't done nearly as well as it could have been and the fight we got was a little bland. Cool design, though.
