When you are first learning the language, yeah. When was the last time you paused to select a specific word, whether speaking, writing or just in a thought? Think about instances where you've done this. How frequently is the word you pause for a pronoun? They aren't the only types of words this doesn't happen with, but they are one example. Such words should not be substituted with random arbitrary made up words. You wouldn't just up and go "I think from now on I will say 'scree' instead of 'the' and 'zlork' instead of 'and.' That seems logical." I view pronouns the same way.

Have you tried applying this same thought to any other extremely common word? Gotta say I pause wrt pronouns a lot more often than something like "cat" or "dog" or "car" or "food".

Cards in Baten Kaitos age in real time (so like food items will spoil, etc). One card infamously takes like a week of real time to age into its next version. I haven't looked at the stream but it's probably that.

Nice list, the only thing I would add is side-objective gaiden chapters like in FE5-7. Such good replay value. I agree that PoR's supports were the best. I just wish there were more of them in that game.

Thieves/Assassins

Oh yeah, I miss those but I also kind of like the paralogue system. But I'd like the return of fulling side objectives to unlock more content for sure.

I'm not sure there's a single thief/assassin I don't like. Actually that's a lie, fuck off Cath. But other than her...

5. Julian (FE1/etc). Have you ever seen a girl so beautiful you gave up banditry? Julian has. Then he went on a long, dangerous quest across the continent to save her. Julian is low-key best boyfriend.
4. Legault (FE7). He's my least favorite thief in FE7 but Legault rocks, especially if you check his pre-battle convos with other Fangs.
3. Jaffar (FE7). If you looked at an image of the Four Fangs and asked which is recruitable, I doubt many people would guess right -- but FE7 subverts a lot of expectations like that. Watching Jaffar grow from an emotionless kill-bot to a young man with family and friends was one of the best parts of FE7.
2. Matthew (FE7). Matthew might be the best written character in FE7, though. For being the obligatory doofball thief, he's a very complex character with a lot of development and relevance to the main plot. Recent games have really been lacking in this sort of character, who can sober up when the chips are down.
1. Volke (FE9/10). Volke is like... the coolest. And not just of this class. If my teenage self had to design a badass character they'd have based it off Volke for sure. He has some of the best lines in the Tellius games, too.

So I'm assuming this is like a BDSM thing and tbh I'm not about that life cuz unequal power dynamic stuff creeps me out but I'll give it a shot.

5. Ilyana (FE10). Honestly she's basically a cat already because all she does is eat, sleep, and beg for more food.
4. Setsuna (Fates). I mean, if you're gonna have something in your house that's constantly trapping itself in cupboards and in the window blinds and stuff, it might as well be Setsuna instead of a cat or a dog because at least you can get high with her.
3. Volug (FE10) WOW is anyone surprised he's on this list?? You'd think he'd be higher but actually nope!
2. Felicia (Fates) is best Fates waifu and having a maid seems like it would be helpful. It wouldn't actually be helpful because that maid is Felicia, but it sure seems like it would.
1. Lyre (FE10). She's only in like one conversation but she seems cool, she's definitely cute, and she comes with her own collar.

So to me bishounen means "obviously a man but very beautiful and even feminine in some respects" so someone like Lucius wouldn't really qualify.

5. Forde (FE8). Rock that ponytail. Forde hits a lot of the bishounen checkmarks but he's not QUITE as pretty as some others.
4. Izana (Fates). In, uh, everything but demeanor. Izana recognizes that a bishounen's most valuable aspect is their hair.
3. Jakob (Fates). Hair? Gorgeous. Fashion sense? Outstanding. Bishounen? VERY.
2. Shannan (FE4). The name helps but it's really the immaculately straightened waist-length hair that does it.
1. Arion (FE4). Arion has everything Jakob and Shannan have, but with a cape. He's also an older brother, which is the most bishounen kind of family member to be. 10/10 bishounen, would bish-again.

Correct, though I think it extends beyond just income. Southern's argument basically conflates needs and wants to create a strawman (or, more accurately, it conflates two different definitions of need -- one in the sense of "I require this to exist" and one in the sense of "this improves my life"). It's like the difference between saying "I need water" and "I need a car".

Top 5 characters first introduced in Radiant Dawn

Ooh this is an interesting one. I should probably use it to list Dawn Brigade characters but I don't really like any of them.

5. Aran is pretty cool, though like all the Dawn Brigaders he falls off fast.
4. Vika barely has more than her character design going for her but it's a very cool character design (even if she kinda looks like a Hot Topic employee).
3. Volug is still hot as fuck and he's a pretty amusing character if you look up translations to his dialogue.
2. Heather's entire character is just "i'm gay" and without supports she didn't even really get to play that up, but she's cool still.
1. Nailah has one of my favorite character designs and is just super cool and badass. Her pre-battle convo with Sephiran is basically just him going "uh... you have a point, actually" and it's great.

HMs: neither is playable but I like Yune and Levail.

re: FE4, fedorafreak is right that it's dated, but it's still super playable. You should check it out, especially if you care about the story in FE, because IMO it's the best one.

Mechanics from old games that you want them to bring back

5. FE4-sized maps. I don't want every game to be this, but I'd like one more go at it. I think if they fixed some of FE4's problems and experimented with making the maps less linear, it could be really cool.
4. FE9 style supports. I think this is the game that did it best: supports build based on maps rather than turns, and interesting conversations are valued over shipping.
3. Separate children's campaign. I don't think you can really replicate FE4's twist here, but I'm definitely done with time travel shenanigans to let parents and kids coexist. Maybe revisit the original FE4 idea and have the adults get captured in some way so the kids have to rescue them, then you can still have both at the end. Bonus: FE4's style works better mechanically too.
2. Simple skill system. I'm definitely done with each character having a random assortment of minor skills after Awakening and Fates. Bring back the days when characters had 1-2 skills but they had big, obvious effects.
1. Rescuing. I think this was such a good mechanic and I want it back. Pair up just isn't the same.

5. Tana (FE8). Okay so she doesn't have a great start what with getting kidnapped but Tana's a good friend to Eirika and Ephraim and definitely my favorite pegasus knight in FE8.
4. Tanith (FE9/10). I might be the only one who likes Tanith... her design's a little generic but in a way I like, and I love that she's got her reputation for being super stern and scary. In FE9 she had a skill that could summon generic pegasus knights which was weird and cool for FE.
3. Erinys (FE4) is probably the most mature, responsible character in the first half of the game which means she bounces off Lewyn super well. She's also your only flier for a loooong time so get used to her.
2. Florina. she just wants to have a big ol' family with lyn and her sisters and everyone's always trying to go off on their own, poor florina

Least favorite maps/chapters

Hmmm I'm sure I'll miss some here just because I've blocked them out of my mind, but let's see.

5. Girl of the Spirit Forest (FE4). Love this game but this chapter really sucks, slogging through that forest is awful.
4. Final chapter (FE6). People say that FE8's final chapter had no challenge but it can't hold a candle to FE6's final chapter. Incidentally, holding a candle to FE6's final chapter is enough to kill every enemy in it, but you'll still have to waste like 40 minutes running across the giant map and listening to Jahn explain the game's plot.
3. Raise the Standard (FE10). It's Fiona's map and I only remember its name because she and her dumbfuck allies definitely don't raise any standards.
2. That Fates map for the Wind Tribe that blows your characters all over the place. WOW, fuck this gimmick.
1. Matthis' map (FE12). I hate you, Matthis, you and your long, dull, awful map. Even if you don't care about recruiting Matthis, getting Marth to all the villages is annoying as hell.

4. Severa (Awakening). She's really just Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion in Fire Emblem but like... Asuka's cool so it's fine. How does this chick end up fighting for Nohr? (This is rhetorical I know there were Shenanigans.) In her intro chapter she turns hostile if Chrom's army kills one (1) single villager in self-defense. We're expected to believe she tolerates Camilla, much less Garon? Please.
3. Soleil (Fates). She's so gay I love her. Fates didn't deserve a character as pure as Soleil. I want her to dance clumsily with All The Girls.
2. Forrest (Fates). Forrest is fantastic. Dude had my respect from the moment he showed up in all pink. He and Elise are adorable together. Also, Leo calls him an embarrassment and Forrest's just like "sorry you feel that way but I deserve better than you, bye" and it shuts Leo down so hard that his heart grows three sizes.
1. Altena (FE4). Whoops, I actually thought FE4 wasn't gonna win this one... Altena's the oldest of the kids and you have no control over her parents, but I'd still call her a child character and she's cool as hell. How is Altena so much more compelling than Corrin despite getting 1/30th the screentime.

5. Joshua (FE8). I wish Joshua was in a game with skills so he could have gambling related stuff, but I guess it works well for a crit heavy character too. I want his hat.
4. Stefan (FE9/10). Aside from how much of a dick move his recruitment is, Stefan is VERY cool. (His design's pretty chuu2 but it's still cool.) Stefan's aloof, friendly, and philosophical -- not to mention mysterious.
3. Shannan (FE4). He might have the same name as your third grade best friend's mom but Shannan is a cool dude. Sigurd and Ayra rescue him as a kid then he helps out Seliph as an adult. In the manga he tried to protect Dierdre from Manfroy which was PRETTY DAMN GUTSY for a literal child, though he also harbors a lot of guilt for failing.
2. Karel (FE6/7). Karel has one of my favorite support convos in FE7, where he enlists Dart to tell him stories of the strongest men in the world, only to find out he's already killed them all. Karel's sort of a psychopath, but at least he's USUALLY pointed at the bad guys. After Karla's death he mellows out a lot and goes into full on warrior-pacifist Rurouni Kenshin territory. Can't go wrong with Karel in either game (he's better in FE6 though).
1. Ayra (FE4). Everyone loves Ayra. The best strategy for recruiting her is to send Alec to fight her, not because he's competent but because he has Nihil to negate her Astra skill which will murder anyone else. She's the only woman in FE4 who isn't confirmed to have lived through the Battle of Belhalla probably because she's too much of a badass to run. Her kids are always great and she has surprisingly sweet lover conversations with Lex and, even more surprisingly, Arden.

I like most myrmidons tbh... except Navarre who is overrated (he's still cool I guess).

I don't remember any in 8, I forgot about most 10 Endings, only remembered Elincia/Geoffrey actually existed. Though, I can't believe I forgot Florina/Lyn for 7.

There were quite a few in 8! Kyle and Forde for example, and Eirika and Tana. 10 had Ike/Soren and Ike/Ranulf at the very least. 7 had loads since most endings weren't overtly romantic.

Not that you'd necessarily remember any of that unless you're an obsessive dork like I am.

Your personal least favorite characters for any reason

5. Castor (FE1/3/11/12). Castor's awful. He's a dumb archer conman who puts on a sad face and talks about his sick mom to extort money or sympathy from people. Caeda recruits him and I wish she hadn't.
4. Makalov (FE9/10). He's a real piece of shit but at least he's kinda funny? I guess? Not really. how did this fuck up get with astrid. mystery for the ages.
3. Peri (Fates). Peri is straight up probably the most villainous recruitable character in any FE game. Usually that would make her interesting, but not here! She's just randomly a serial killer and no one seems to take exception with it. I also hate her design. Get fucked, Peri.
2. Percy (Fates). Percy is the dumbest, brattiest kid in the world. He tries to get Arthur and the rest of Corrin's army killed just because he's upset at his dad. I hate his stupid design and his Leave It to Beaver style dialogue is grating at best.
1. Matthis (FE1/3/11/12). I HATE this guy. I HATE him HATE him HATE him HATE him. I hate his dumb face and his sad sack personality and I hate how hard it is to recruit him and I hate how he keeps talking about how cute his sister is. Extra creepy. He's like if 4chan was a character in FE. He's also the most common class in the game (Cavalier) so there's even less reason to use him. If you had to pick one character to not recruit, Matthis is a GREAT choice.

Haha hell yeah Wyvern Knight Nowi. I mean I don't use Nowi much at all but the sheer hilarity of that makes that the class of choice when I do use her. I'm honestly not even 100% sure what my list would even be but I approve of yours in any case. (her + manakete ninian + dancer inigo would be strong choices for mine at least)

Usually I just keep the canon classes honestly, or wait until promotion and then go down the obviously non-canon split (e.g. Griffon Rider for Cherche). I'm liking the liberties Heroes has been taking though.

I never really got into FE's music. It's weird since I'm all about VG music in a lot of other cases but most of it doesn't stand out to me in FE.

5. End of All (Land) (Fates)

There are three versions of this I think the Conquest one is my favorite. Probably the only time I actually like Azura's dumb song, even though it kinda sounds like it's being sung by a human MIDI converter at the beginning there. It's sweeping and dramatic and definitely sounds like a final battle theme.

4. Conquest (Awakening)

This is a generic map theme but for some reason I think it's really beautiful, it sort of reminds me of DKC music.

3. Final Chapter - The Last Holy War (FE4)

Really mellow for a final chapter theme, but I think that's why I like it. It fits the mood of the final chapter so well, and I like the way it moves back and forth between being more militaristic/a marching song and more carefree and floaty.

2. Don't Speak Her Name! (Awakening)

This works perfectly for its role in the story but I also just like it in general. It's sad and sweet and mournful and hopeful all at once.

1. Conversation 1 (FE4)

I think I'm the only one who likes this song but it's just so bitter sounding in a way that I think the SNES' sound set really helps. I hear this song in my head whenever some drama's going down in my life.

5. Petrine (FE9). Petrine's a real piece of shit, but she looks cool as hell and uses a hecka rad magic lance. If you think about her background as a Branded she almost becomes a little sympathetic too. Almost.
4. Sonia (FE7). Sonia is singlehandedly responsible for almost every gut-punch in FE7, way more so than Nergal is. She's a horrible person with no redeeming qualities but she is pretty interesting, being a morph who forgot she was a morph
3. Clarisse (FE12). She's more complicated than she appears on the surface and her relationship with Katarina is probably the only truly interesting thing Katarina has going for her. I felt legit sad when she died even though she's a terrible person.
2. Ursula (FE7). I feel bad for Ursula, she's not a good person but she'd be a lot better of one if she hadn't been manipulated so strongly by Sonia. But then Sonia manipulated everyone. Ursula is 100% the least sympathetic of the Four Fangs but it still sucks that she dies calling out for Sonia, someone who never cared a bit about her.
1. Hilda (FE4). Imagine if Cruella de Vil was an FE character who hated humans instead of puppies. That's Hilda. She tortures Tailtiu to death. Enough said. Hilda is terrifying.

HMs: Micaiah (FE10) (just kidding) (sort of), Eremiya (FE12), Pamela (FE4)

SORRY there aren't many evil ladies in FE and I like even fewer of them, especially since I don't really count Idunn as evil.

I'm not sure what's actually good but I like these ones:

5. Optimistic (Kiragi). I like the skills that make the Wait command do something extra, I think there's a lot of room to explore that mechanically in future games.
4. Bushido (Ryoma). Ryoma, who is always overleveled, gets his stats boosted if he's paired up with someone of a lower level. It's just unfair to Nohr.
3. Bibliophile (Ophelia). She'll like always have 3 books anyway so it's just a flat boost all the time.
2. Aching Blood (Odin). What a perfect skill for Odin lmao
1. Fierce Rival (Selena). Guaranteed crits when you get other crits. This saved me a couple times in Conquest.

5. His lack of fucks. Haar just doesn't give a shit, especially if it interrupts his sleep.
4. ...until he does. Haar figured out Begnion's shit before most people and has a surprising amount of plot relevance late in FE10 which is awesome after he kinda did nothing in FE9.
3. His class/stats. Pretty sure FE10 speedruns/low turn count runs just use Haar almost exclusively whenever possible. And like, of course they do, he's really good, has great movement, he can fly, and arrows don't do effective damage to dragons in FE10.

1. His pre-battle boss dialogue. "The world could flip upside down and you'd be trying to boss around gravity."

5. The Pegasus Trio. There haven't been any of these recently but I miss the days when the games just threw Pegasus Knights at you. I like how they were enemies in FE4 but could still triangle attack.
4. Lorenz. A less popular one, Lorenzes are important enemy commanders who are difficult to recruit. I like the puzzley aspects of recruitment so these guys are right up my alley, particularly ones like Hannibal and Douglas.
3. Jagen. Cool old dudes. They're usually surprisingly useful too once you realize you shouldn't try to solo the game with them (unless you want to). I think the dynamic of them being more experienced but unable to back it up due to age/failing health is interesting despite being tragic. Oifeys (the "good" Jagens like Seth and Titania) are cool too but for different reasons obviously.
2. Cain and Abel. Whatever two dumb cavaliers join you early on are almost assuredly two of the best units in the game, so go ahead and use them and make your life a lot easier. Unless you're playing FE10 then you don't get a Cain and Abel, you get Fiona and suffering.

True, some. But I actually never could play many of the originals, especially 4/5. I don't beat many games either, having played... 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and the remakes to 1/3, but only beat 7/8/9/11? That's SD.

Well technically I think 7, 8, and 10 are the only ones with same gender endings until Fates. 2 sort of had some but you had no control over them (and they were all obviously platonic).

Top 5 Est type characters.

Honestly I rarely use them, they're not usually worth it. But some are cool characters.

5. Elincia (FE9). I barely used her in FE9 cuz I don't think she's really worth it there but I had to sneak her on here because she's my favorite.
4. Kurthnaga (FE10). When all your characters are capped but you still have bonus EXP, just pump it all into Kurthnaga and watch him be... adequate, I guess. You've already got a bunch of Laguz royals who don't need investment at that point though so he's not that special.
3. Est herself (FE1/etc). I've never used her frankly because I was already overloaded on fliers, but she deserves some credit for establishing the archetype.
2. Sophia (FE6). I really like her and I've used her but she just sucks. She joins at level 1 when some of your characters are already promoted, on a fog of war desert map, and the map after has long range magic to watch out for... She's basically impossible to train (though I did it once) and not even good when she is trained. But she's cool and purple.
1. Nino (FE7). She does what an Est should, which is dominate the game if you put in the effort to catch her up. Nino's practically guaranteed to be OP if you bother with her.

5. Nowi (Awakening). She has moments of surprising maturity which are cool but man is she poorly designed. Her dragon form is really cool at least, it looks like a leafy sea dragon.
4. Nah (Awakening). I like how going through the bad future made her seemingly more mature than her mom, but it all fades away once they reunite. Nice touch.
3. Myrrh (FE8). Myrrh's definitely the least childish of the kid manaketes despite hanging onto Ephraim so much. Having her fight Morva is always heartwrenching.
2. Fae (FE6). She's just kind of adorable. Lil chicken dragon.
1. Tiki (FE1). The OG. I like Tiki more as an adult but she's cool as a kid too.

3. Her Personal Skill. Most of the enemies are Nohr so it's really just "+3 Str for the majority of the game". (It's bad in Revelation though.)
2. Her class. Lance infantry are rare and cool.
1. Her interest in fashion. It's way more interesting than her other gimmick which is just hating Nohr. (Like. Fair. But it just comes off as racism even though Nohr really does suck.)

I'm still annoyed she can't marry Leo in Revelation and be Forrest's mom because that would make so much sense.

Supports without paired endings (and are heterosexual *cough*) that you wish had endings. Sorry to troll with the hetero thing, but I know where you'd go with this if I didn't.

5. Klein/Thea (FE6). Only Roy got paired endings in FE6 so there are a lot of omissions here. This is a big one since they're obviously hella into each other. If FE6 was FE7 this would have had an ending.
4. Igrene/Astolfo (FE6). I can't believe we find out Astolfo is Igrene's former husband and then that's it, there's no conclusion to it all we just have to sit and ruminate on that.
3. Ike/Lethe (FE10). Ike's definitely all about the boys but to me he's also pretty obviously interested in Lethe in FE9. I always liked his dynamic with Lethe way more than with Elincia (which I never bought as romantic even when it was played up in FE9). They even make kind of a marriage promise in their FE9 A-support and it's never mentioned again.
2. Juno/Zealot (FE6). I love them and they're like canon married but they don't get a paired ending. Lame, not that anyone would ever use them both though I guess.
1. Flavia/Basilio (Awakening). What in the world happened here that these two didn't get a paired ending, what the fuck Awakening?

I'll go mainly by character though they're mostly useful too.

5. Sanaki. Again I'd prefer if she was like... Ike's age, but she's still a really cool ruler type character.
4. Haar. Surprisingly plot-relevant for a guy who sleeps all day. Who doesn't love Haar?
3. Jill. Jill goes through so much in FE9/10. I love her supports with Mist and Lethe and watching her unlearn all the racist shit she had picked up in Daein.
2. Ike. What do I even need to say?
1. Elincia. Elincia's the best, she gets so much development and goes from such a crap leader to such a good one. Also, infinite prf brave sword? I should've put that on the best swords list lmao

Tragic characters

This is gonna be pretty Archanea/Jugdral heavy I think, those are the games with the most tragedy... I think I'll just wrap some examples together.

5. Lucina and Severa (Awakening)
The Awakening kids are pretty interesting because they're all traumatized in different ways. I think Lucina and Severa got it the worst since they both dealt with tons of insecurity even before they failed to save their own timeline, as they had to deal with being compared to their parents. Severa is just a bundle of self-hatred who lashes out at people so they won't get close to her and make her risk losing them, while Lucina withdraws, taking the Marth identity (itself probably a Bad Choice if she's trying not to live in her ancestors' shadows) and threatening to kill Robin, even if Robin is her mother. Even once they beat Grima, I think Lucina and Severa are the ones who will feel most out of place in a time that isn't their own.

4. Naesala (FE9/10)
Dude doesn't want to fuck everyone over, he's just looking out for Kilvas and inherited a really awful situation there. It's hard to call him a good person, but he's not as evil as most of the cast thinks because he refuses to speak about his true motivations, instead just owning everyone's hatred for him. Sanaki's one of the only ones who sees through it, and she's savvy enough to help him get a happy ending, but man did he cause a lot of death before it happened.

3. Renault (FE7)
Renault is lowkey the most interesting character in FE7, which you'd never know because there's little reason to use him, much less grind supports with him. He's bad at healing because he used to just be a fuckwretched bandit, something he agonizes over especially once he learns he killed Lucius' parents. He cooperated with Nergal's plan to create morphs in order to bring his dead friend back to life, only to find out the morph Nergal eventually created was just a facsimile and not his actual friend.

2. Hardin and Wolf (FE12)
While Nyna and Camus eventually find some degree of happiness, even without each other, Hardin and Wolf just get fucked over by the universe. Hardin gained the political power he wanted and married the woman he loved, only to find out she never actually loved him. He never wanted to go evil but got corrupted by the Darksphere because of his relationship with Nyna. It's no one's "fault" since Nyna got basically forced into it herself, which makes it more tragic. Wolf can be recruited with some difficulty in FE12, so he doesn't have to die to Marth's army like in FE3, but he's so devastated by Hardin's death and his own hand in it that it's implied he kills himself after the war.

1. Sigurd, Quan, and Eldigan (FE4).
The three best friends from FE4 who just end up unable to do anything right. All three of them die for their ideals and their loyalty to each other and it's all completely preventable but they just can't see the writing on the wall well enough to pick a different path. Sigurd fails to realize that disrupting other countries has been playing into Arvis' hand, Eldigan is unable to reconcile his friendships with his knighthood, and Quan's loyalty to Sigurd leaves him blind to the problems in Thracia. None of them are particularly good people, but they're trying, and they just don't try hard enough and end up dead for it. Ethlin and Dierdre should really be up here too but they don't get nearly the development they deserve, unfortunately.

I skipped this one before cuz I already did primary antagonists but on second thought I'll just do this one with all major antagonists counted, not just the biggest one in each game.

5. Idunn (FE6). I'm not sure why but I've really started liking Idunn lately. I want her to show up in Heroes so badly, but luckily there aren't that many manaketes so she probably will at some point.
4. Michalis (FE12 etc). He sort of gets a face turn in FE12 but also kind of not? He's the original scumbag wyvern lord and still the most interesting thanks to his dynamics with Minerva and Maria.
3. Zelgius (FE10). Here's how you make a villain threatening without making them just randomly, callously evil.
2. Trabant (FE4). It's crazy that they did King Garon way, way better than King Garon like twenty years earlier.
1. Arvis (FE4). Still #1, I have a boner for FE4 and I'm not sorry about it.

This is hard because of the different support systems in each game, like do the generic supports in FE10 count? What about games with no supports? Idk I'll do my best though.

5. Genny/Saber (Echoes). It's kind of implied they get together, but also not? I don't like this as a romantic thing but maybe I would if they actually interacted... and if Genny was aged up quite a bit...
4. Flora/Jakob (Fates). wow you know what made no sense: these characters not having supports in a game with tons and tons of supports that didn't need to exist.
3. Chrom/Cordelia (Awakening). "Let's let everyone support everyone, oh except the main fucking character." Anyway this doesn't even have to lead to marriage I just want them to be able to talk.
2. Panne/Emmeryn (Awakening). I don't like that the latter character is recruitable at all but if she is she should have gotten, you know, supports with characters she'd logically talk to. This one in particular would have been a good way of fleshing out Panne's motivations a bit more.
1. Ephraim/Innes (FE8). These two hate each other's guts and I want to see it fleshed out directly instead of through them dating each other's sisters like weirdos.

Yeah Marcus is OP in more of a utility sense than in pure stats, though he's also kind of OP in pure stats too. He can gain nothing all game and still be relevant for most of it.

4. Queen (or I guess Seraph Knight). They're basically the same I just like Elincia the most.
3. Baron. This one's barely even been playable but I really like the idea of giant armored dudes who can use every weapon and most kinds of magic.
2. Dread Fighter. The original third tier class and still a super cool one.

I think it should be possible with just Athos (and Nils)? You might need a healer too. It would definitely be way harder though.

I'm surprised that's your pick from FE7! I prefer Cog of Destiny (Lloyd) and Battle Before Dawn, myself. FE10 3-Final is great, though I might be a bit more fond of 3-7 for the catharsis factor.

I almost listed CoD but I prefer less enemies who are stronger to CoD's zerg rush. It's a fun zerg rush though! 3-Final beats out 3-7 for me though yeah the catharsis is nice. Honestly 2-Final might be up there too.

I don't really like Battle Before Dawn though (except plot-wise) >_>

5. Lyn. She's kind of irrelevant to the story but it's not her fault.
4. Marth. Marth is underrated, I really like him as a character. He gets a surprising amount of development in FE11 and 12.
3. Hector. Cool on the surface, even cooler once you see his more nuanced sides.
2. Sigurd. If you want a picture of FE4's story, imagine a boot stomping on Sigurd's face, forever.
1. Ike. He's like the opposite of Corrin, in that he's great in like every way.

Top 5 game series you'd want to crossover with Fire Emblem (or that you'd just like to see have a game with the same structure as Fire Emblem).

5. Zelda, but I really don't want Zelda cameos in FE. An SRPG with Zelda characters could be neat though.
4. Fate/Stay night. Okay I've barely even played FSN but I think I understand enough about the premise to know this checks out and would be awesome.
3. Soul Calibur. Mostly I just want a Fire Emblem 3D fighter actually, but either way.
2. Pokemon. I'd have been more excited for this when I was younger but it'd still be hecka rad.
1. Tales. If you had to do a full on crossover, this is where to go. I think they "fit" better than most especially now that FE has gone full anime.

4. Ryoma (Fates). Haha, if you thought Birthright was easy before you got Ryoma you're in for a treat after he joins you. I think it's been tested and he can solo the game with his starting stats or something ridic like that.
3. Sirius (FE12). If you're having an issue with FE12, reclass Sirius to Wyvern Lord and watch him and his 27 movement kill everything on the map.
2. Robin (Awakening). Even without Nosferatu, Robin is just crazy good. She's like the only character from the first gen that can really hang with the kids.
1. Marcus (FE7) just crushes the entire game, it's not even fair.
