While I'm thinking about it, I also really liked how BtS justified a lot of Chloe's character. Like, tons of people hated her after she freaked out at Max for answering Kate's call in Ep2, but look at it from a bitter Chloe's perspective with this new information from the texts

"Oh, I tried to get in touch with you multiple times back when I needed you most and you completely ignored me. Now that we're finally hanging out again, though, you're dropping everything to immediately answer some other friend's call? I see how it is."

I dunno, that reaction seems justified to me, especially since she didn't know Kate's situation. BtS also showed that David wasn't doing a great job right from the start, it wasn't all Chloe's fault.

A bunch of characters have championship potential, including many I've never heard of. I also like Eiko but outside of jokes I know she'll never win this thing. I'm going to support either Yuna or Rinoa because I really do think they'd pick up steam if the right sequence of characters went out.

Like, if Rinoa outlasted Squall somehow she'd practically double in strength

Oh, looking back, my post in that wasn't clear. I'm not going to actively trade for anyone until Yuna/Rinoa wins because I'm trying to see who has more support and it wouldn't be fair if I traded for one. My third save will therefore always go to someone else and today it would've been Eiko. I wouldn't have traded for Yuna either

Besides, by the time my third save came up today it was down to two anyway.

I don't think anyone disputes the fact that rinoa is midtier in these things.

I honestly Rinoa has championship potential. She just has to outlast Yuna and then I'll carry her far enough that she'll inevitably gather new supporters!

These early/mid rounds are just going to be her danger zone because right now all that potential support is spread out. Yuna also has similar potential imho so I'm waiting to see who the people choose

There's a lot of references I think will go over people's head because they rely on Japanese pop culture that isn't anime or games ( though there's a few of those too)

The more eps I watch, the less the game gets interesting and the more engaging the workforce stuff gets.

I'm guessing that first part is true because I felt literally the opposite about the game/work stuff in Dad of Light. The workplace stuff was awful and distracted from the main plot way too much. Like, the whole FFXIV plotline felt like the B plot that bolstered the A plot of his work life. It should've been the other way around

Ozark wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. One of the characters was really compelling, I guess. That's the best thing I can say about it.

Honestly, I prefer it when the story just never gives a specific year. It's the future. As long as that's established the actual year barely matters except as a reference point to fictional historical events and those can just be 'ten years ago'.

If I have to pick, though, starting a calendar from a prominent local event (colonization of a planet, for example) is less dumb than the year 9869 would be.
