Chito and Yuuri actually aren't the very last humans, although the population has dwindled down and the world has deteriorated so much that humanity is almost certainly doomed. They met another person in episodes 3 and 6, and in episode 9 (today's episode) they met an AI robot. Seems like the pattern is that every third episode is one where they meet someone else that makes them evaluate the outlook on "life" and what it means to be alive. Spidey5 posted... aside from the fact that Yuuri almost manages to get Chi killed horribly basically every episode. Eventually, all the god Pokmon caused some form of cataclysm, which wiped out a lot of different Pokmon species and decimated the human population.
