I can see why Palestinians have beef, but what do the other Middle Eastern nations care?

The tl;dr is that during Muhammad's conquest of the middle east he was attacked and had to defend himself. There was a nearby series of Jewish tribes that had allied themselves with Muhammad, but rather than come to his defense they chose not to act. He considered that a major betrayal and he spent the next few years wiping every one of those tribes out. From that point on, Jews were basically declared as traitors of the prophet, and the rest is history.

EDIT: Also, the quran doesn't allow muslim bankers to charge interest. Jews have no such law, so jewish loans to muslims traditionally have interest like any other loan. This has led to the perception that Jews are manipulative and/or greedy. It's the same logic Germany used to justify targetting the jews in WW2 (They claimed jewish bankers hoarding money and charging interest were the reasons recovery post-WW1 was so slow).

IMO might as well get it out of the way. There's never going to be a "good" time to tell Palestine that they don't have any actual claim to Jerusalem. Let every nation that tried to destroy Israel before rage about the decision and claim the US is making a mistake, but the reality is that the ONLY thing holding back a two state solution being agreed to was "who owns Jerusalem". Well now that's settled, and Palestine can decide if they want the rest of the land they claim, or whether they're willing to burn it all down over one city.

I mean, it is the capital so it isn't that big of a deal. Everyone that does business with the Israeli government, does it in Jerusalem cause that's where the government offices are.

However, the capital was a bargaining chip that Trump wasted. He should've made Israel come to the table to accept an East Jerusalem Palestinian capital or stop illegal settlements or something. But he just gave the capital up without furthering a two-state solution. Which is dumb.

There's no deal to have. Palestine wants Jerusalem as their capital, and Israel has it declared as their land. People should stop pretending like Palestine was ever going to strike a deal. They want all the Jews in Israel dead... what sort of "good faith agreement" can even come from that?
