Single guys in your 30s : are you worried you can only sleep with mothers and divorced women now? You know, not having a tight body to get busy with ever again.

The idea terrifies me

not at all. i have no plans to get married or have children as neither appeal to me or my long term goals.

as long as you don't entirely let yourself go physically, continue growing and exude some level of confidence you shouldn't have trouble. i haven't had trouble. it's important to continue to provide value to others by being an interesting person and leading an interesting life. the most unattractive person is one that has lost a sense of direction and resigned to a life of self oppression.

i've arrived at a state where i could care less about what other people think about what i do with my life. i think i cared too much in my 20s and it somewhat dictated my path in life to a point that i was uncomfortable admitting for a long time. i've also come to terms with the fact that i'm an adult in a much more real sense (which should have happened a long time ago) and now i do whatever i want with my time and life as long as it doesn't interfere with my ability to self sustain and thrive.

the important part is i own my time. my financial stability has increased allowing me to really hone in on self actualizing and find growth in many areas of my life.

that said, i do feel different than i did in my early 20s because i have centered control of my life onto me through developing work skills that allow me to be financially productive independent of traditional employers. this is a big part of why i've been able to enjoy the freedom i do. i think this goes back to a shift in my own personal philosophy around life in my late 20s. i've also noticed as i get older objects and things have lost their value to me when compared to experiential purchases.

as far as looking haggard and old, i think a lot of that comes down to genetics. i've been particularly hard on myself through my 20s with alcohol and work obligations (lack of sleep) but even at 32 i still get carded everywhere and people assume i'm in my early to mid 20s a lot.

how hard is living though really (especially in a first world country)?

i mean it can be pretty trying but if you have your physiological & safety needs met you're well on your way to self actualization with some goal setting.

This is terrible advice.

However if you're putting it into something like an S&P 500 index fund, then $20K a year is very good. Do it for a few decades and you should be able to retire.

it was a japanese jab at koreans for their fear of fan death. it's pretty common that korean households do not install fans in their bathrooms and do not install doors on their bathrooms to keep them aired out properly. actually if you did a little bit more research you would find out that i just made that up and i have no idea.

TopicHow much are cable "cord cutters" actually saving?
Kombucha
02/02/18 12:15:30 AM
#8
the savings come about when people split tv service bundles from sling, directvnow, hulu tv, youtube tv etc.

that wasn't really possible with traditional cable unless you lived under the same roof. if you can just cut network broadcasting all together you'll most certainly come out ahead.

anyways as for me personally i pay $30 a month for my internet, no caps. i just sign in with a cable subscription that my uncle has to view tv anywhere app content for most of the major networks on my apple tv. all of the tv anywhere apps (abc, fox, espn, etc) populate content in the tv app so i don't really have to go through them to find new stuff to watch. it also keeps track of what shows i'm watching so if something airs it will show up in my "up next" section so i can go ahead and watch it.

the only drawback is some networks make you wait 24 hours before you can stream something that they've aired, but that's becoming increasingly rare.

i've tucked all the tv anywhere apps that don't support live tv into a folder so they don't clutter my main screen. the tv anywhere apps that do have live tv integrated like fox (fx/fxm/natgeo) and espn, i keep visible and easily accessible.

i guess using my uncles sign in could qualify me as a leech, but i've been his tech support for just about everything for the past 10 years so i'm pretty sure it's a fair trade (and yes he is aware).
