I like my job a lot, though. I just hate when I have dreams that make me think there is some urgent task that I need to complete. Then I wake up and it takes a bit to realize the task itself doesn't make sense.

I used to dream of Excel worksheets a lot, and it made me so incredibly angry. That's when I decided to focus on keeping my work and home lives separate.

alternative to that is that ideas have a time they will come out based on a required level of social development and even if person that history remembers did not do what they did, the idea would surface soon regardless.

This is what I believe, but only for social issues. What people as a whole want will happen, this is why I put close to no value on a political candidate's stance on social issues. For science/research I feel "necessity is the mother of invention" is a very apt saying.

Well I was born to a family who cared about me, so that's probably one of the biggest factors of my success. We were never rich; in fact, I thought that we had a good deal less than my friends/peers. While we weren't rich, I later learned that we were never poor; my parents were just excellent at budgeting, and my dad passed those instincts and skills on to me as a young man/ adult. In school, I worked my ass off, but that was partly because I had friends who very much cared about their future prospects, so I didn't want to feel left out. I guess I can attribute that to my parents as well, since I met most of those friends in band, and my parents heavily pushed me to do that.

They never forced me to graduate with a 3.9 GPA and a 32 on the ACT. That, along with me being an Eagle Scout led to me getting a virtually free-ride scholarship to a smaller state school (it was an accumulation of a lot of smaller scholarships from the university, state, and businesses in the area). This allowed me to graduate with almost no loans. I did meet the in at the company I worked at right out of school from the department I was in at my college. But I never stopped networking and looking for better opportunities once I got into the workforce. This isn't from me being a super go-getter, more like I just get bored at positions very quickly, so I look for ways to move on/expand.

I'm glad I had a great support system/work ethic growing up, because once my dad got sick a few years ago, I was really depressed and had a hard time finding a value in work for a while.
