realistically a tyrannical uprising would never happen in this country. given how were brought up youd lose most of the military right off the bat and that combined with civilian guerilla tactics would make short work of anyone. hypothetically could an armed insurgency work against the US? yes. especially if its a million strong mixed into the general populace. that tends to make standard warefare difficult assuming you dont want to blow away the general population and ruin your infrastructure.

however guns also serve another purpose. they help in keeping governments in check. once a means of serious revolt is taken away the government will start pecking away at your civil liberties and use it as an excuse for the greater good. they may or may not go hitler on you, but very very slowly you will start to become a police state which will lead to worse things. its happened so many times in history and is currently happening now in other parts of the world.

on another note guns are immensely important in this country specifically because we have a much higher violence ratio (NOT including firearms) than nearly every other first world country and even many second world ones. the US has severe issues with drug and gang violence on top of a large racial problems and a whole host of other issues that are significantly multiplied compared to any other country. people need a means of defending themselves because the cops sure as fucking hell wont do it.

if you want a good one they can definitely be an investment, but its also not like you have to pay that every year. buy a nice $600 pistol and a few extra mags and it will last you a life time if you take care of it and it doesnt take much to do that. then you just have to worry about ammo of which something like 9mm is pretty cheap. maybe $10 worth of cleaning supplys every few years too.

if youre interested, go to a range and see if you can rent various ones and try them out. Glock, HK, Sig, CZ, Beretta, S&W. its hard to go wrong with any of those brands. Personally i will live and die by CZ.

also dont be afraid of the surplus market. stuff like Makarov's, Tokarev's, Mosins, SKS' ect. only go up in price as they evaporate from the market and they all work well as functioning firearms and are battle tested. friend of mine several years back bought a crate of 20 mosin nagants for $700 and now just one rifle goes for $300. You can also go for police trade in's which tend to be in very good condition. .40 pistols tend to be pretty cheap.

shooting is as expensive as you want to make it. guns also hold their value well if you want to sell them. for $260 you can buy a hi-point and 1000rounds to last you a year and only break it out for cleaning once or twice in that time. or a little .22 for $150 and 3000rounds for $120.

i spend more on video games a year.

its actually a pretty nice investment especially when you can buy and build them for $350-500 now. stock up on receivers and 30 round magazines as well. you could get receivers for $50 before sandy hook. after they were going for $200+.

Most cops dont. theres something like 900,000 active police in the US to watch over a total population of over 330million. Of that they kill anywhere from 900-1400 people depending on what study you want to believable in. Of that its estimated that around 98% of them are justified according to the fbi, but considering some of the shit cops have gotten away with that have been deemed "justified" who knows the real numbers. Still its a very very small percentage overall. Also it should be noted that of the thousand or so of people killed only about 20-30 did not have some type of weapon on them or use their car as a weapon. Of course something could always be falsified, but in general cops tend to do what they are paid to and you just happen to hear the worst cases which are compounded by relentlessly shown on news and social media to make things seem bigger than they are.

As far as my personal opinion i do feel there should be a reform in how cops handle them selves. They are way too trigger happy and are way too prone to resorting to violence. That being said the US is SUBSTANTIALLY more violent than any first world country and even many second world countries. The US has 2.5x more homicides than the UK and 4x more than Australia and both of these are NOT including firearms. With guns its substantially higher. Police are trained to have to deal with that similar to say Brazil which based on their violence ratio have made their police have 0 tolerance. Its all based on the ratio of shit they have to deal with. In many European countries they generally dont have to deal with the level of shit that the US does in terms of violence and crime.

i still think blood money had the better atmosphere, setups and overall story, but the new hitman is FAR better in terms of mechanics and gameplay design. without a doubt the largest and intricately designed maps in the series.

4 and lost legacy are the only ones where the actual shooting is pretty good. they improve after 1 slightly in certain ways (like enemies hit reactions and hp), but they arnt great till much later in the series. i will say though that the series does move away from the obvious combat gauntlets that are in 1. the others feels more natural in that regard.

pretty much everything has been said i can think of. you dont need to get fancy when it comes to toys, the simplest stuff is usually the best. my cats love playing with shoe laces and plant reeds. a laser pointer is also nice. keep a bowl of dried cat food out 24/7 and supplement with wet cat food 1-2 times a day. dont feed them either or, they need a diet of both. my cats also love baby food, specifically ham flavored. scratching post is a must. when it comes to cat litter make sure its in a safe spot away from noise and remember to change the litter twice a month and scoop it every day. if its an outside cat remember to make mandatory vet check ups (atleast twice a year), but otherwise i wouldn't worry too much about that. my indoor cat hasnt needed to go to the vet in over 10 years. just remember to play with them and get exercise.

oh and make sure you know what the cat likes to eat/chew on. one of my cats would eat anything edible you put in front of him, but wont touch anything he shouldnt were as my other cat is extremely fussy about food and will chew on stuff he shouldnt be. when he was 1 i had to take him into the vet for emergency surgery because he got rubber stuck in his intestines from chewing on an exercising mat that i didnt know about. awful experience for everyone and an expensive one.
