I'm sure some of it is well-meaning, but often when people post on here about a problem, other people will give the most obvious solution (that the person has undoubtedly thought of) with no extra nuance, and this advice is often oblivious to the point of being useless

for example, if someone says "most jobs are shitty and exploitative", a common piece of advice is "get a different job", even if the person who made the first point isn't working such a job.

this is about the most useless thing to tell someone, even if they are working a shitty job - it's acting as though the problem is with the individual, rather than with the society. it's tone deaf.

so for people who do this: why? do you legitimately think you're being helpful? because I can tell you with 100% certainty that you're not
