People who aren't even necessarily fans of a team he's played for or even fans of football know of him because of the whole "I'm only here so I don't get fined" thing from a few seasons back. Lynch is "high profile" but not for the protests. He wasn't even in the league last year when most of the protests were going on. As someone else said, there are other of his former Seahawks teammates who are much more outspoken about the protests. Alexanaxela posted... but how and why? What in itself is disrespectful about kneeling? What's disrespectful about not standing? It's just the existence of a protocol and people not following it, which is viewed as being disrespectful in a culture where the expected way of showing respect is by standing when someone enters a room. --- |
