I've always been blown away by people who claim they lack the discipline to consume fewer calories. Since most of my beverage consumption is water and black coffee (milk if I need a "free" calorie boost that day) I get to experience the joy that comes with trying to consume a "normal" amount of calories purely in food. It's a lot harder than it looks.

Even if I eat like total shit (fast food, candy bars, etc) it takes great effort to eat what I consider an "unhealthy" amount of calories in a day. I actually have to go out of my way to make it happen. This is not for lack of desire or ability to eat, as I can certainly put away a LOT of food if I want to, but it's fucking tedious.

Note that this thread is pretty much only talking about average people without any strange disorders/illnesses that might affect their appetite/calorie needs.

Yeah apart from the shit with Poe/Hux at the beginning (which made sense since he was stalling for time), nothing really stood out to me as particularly out of place in a Star Wars movie.

I think the worst part of that "joke" was that they went out of their way to spell it out, as if anyone WOULDN'T understand it was a stalling tactic/Poe messing with Hux (and in turn, trying to pass THAT off as part of the joke). There were several moments like that, actually. Still not bad enough to ruin the entire film like some whiners have suggested.

There were a few jokes that were pretty forced/set up, but a great deal of the humor was very similar to that of the original trilogy's jokes too. NONE of it was as bad as the shit they tried to pull in Episode 3.

Anyone who bags on the film for THIS should not be taken seriously. Plenty of other things to complain about, but the jokes were alright.

And then, the cold. It's Florida so it's not the coldest during the winter but it got quite cold. I remember finishing a boat, coming up to the surface and seeing icicles on the dock. Another year, there was such a bad freeze that it was killing fish. Came to the surface and bumped my head on dead catfish. That's when the water was so cold I was getting headaches (underwater brain freezes.)

Nothing else bothers me about this post except this bit, that sounds incredibly frightening. I know wetsuits help mitigate a lot of body heat loss, but your face/head is still pretty exposed and a great deal of body heat leaves through the head. Somehow the notion of freezing to death like that is more frightening than that of drowning/getting rekt by some underwater creature.

You'll "feel" warmer but your body is actually going to bleed off even more heat due to increased blood circulation.

Washing dishes at a grocery store that I drove an hour to get to.

The job wasn't THAT bad, but it's pretty crushing to join the morning traffic rush knowing that your only contribution to society is 100% worthless and meaningless. I'd have taken a job in my town, but nobody was ever hiring.

FFVIII is excellent once you get Enc-none from Diablo and junction the hell out of your party.

From there, you're just jumping from storyline thing to storyline thing which makes the ridiculous of it even better since you don't have to grind (too much) to keep annihilating everything effortlessly.

I still think Laguna should have been the main character of the entire game though.

I drive both on a regular basis and don't really care anymore. It all comes down to the car. If I'm driving a bigass truck/van/land boat, I really don't care how much "control" I have over the engine/gearbox. If I'm driving a Miata, it had better be manual or else it's worthless because control is about all you get in one of those.
