They're not faster than TIE fighters. They are fast enough to get out of range where the dreadnought can support the TIE fighters.

My best understanding is that top-speed (non-warp) was essentially equal between the two fleets, and there was enough range between them that weapons were basically ineffective. The Empire had to close the distance between themselves and the rebels for their weapons to work, which was only going to happen if they ran out of fuel.

Yeah, that was my understanding too. But it seems silly that that they had the exact same top speed so that the distance remained the same.

And thinking back, I thought maybe it made sense if the rebels had a faster top speed but decided to keep the distance the same to conserve fuel...but I'm pretty sure at some point they explicitly say something about increasing to max speed.

The tie fighters could have ran it down at any time.

They specifically moved out of fighter range. It's literally the only reason the attack where Leia almost dies stops .

The dreadnought crew mention to Hux that the rebel cruiser is faster (and lighter) but not fast enough to totally lose them. I guess theoretically they'd lose them eventually, but not soon enough. The transport destruction indicates that the guns have a pretty long range.

Oh, I agree. It would've been fucking stupid if she was related to Luke or Obi-Wan or some shit. I just mean the question was intentionally floated and discussed in the movie itself. The answer they settled on is clearly the best one and the one I've been rooting for from the start.

This week:

Bloodshot: Salvation was backstory on the bad guy this week. Not bad, but I'm not sure I should care yet so it was less than it could be.

Maestros continues to be a rip-roaring good time. They have finally upped the stakes on the plot, so it's not all fun and games anymore though let's be clear it's still extremely fun. This is one of the best books on the market right now period.

Mister Miracle. It's Tom King. King is great. This was perhaps my favorite of this series thus far, and I think everyone knows it's been all good so far.

Retcon continues to suck. It appears this is #4 of 4 so hooray for small mercies. Don't bother.

Yeah I didn't find myself exploring for the sake of it but I did collect all the things because damn I wanted the things and that's super rare for me. My open world combat usually consisted of me corrupting something and then running away as it caused a distraction. Very convenient!

I wouldn't say it changed my mind on them, but for me it did demonstrate that they don't have to be a problem. I haven't finished an open world game possibly ever, but this one was never in question.

I am finishing it up right now, and totally agree. It was recently said that "this is not the game that will change your mind on open worlds" and as a hater of open worlds I was ready to be less than all-in on Horizon. But it really is just excellent. Like you, I have no major complaints. More dynamic melee combat would be really cool, but that's basically it.

Hanukkah began on the 20th in 2011 and (will be on) the 12th this year.

Sleepless is off to a really good start. It's clearly high-fantasy, but not in that frustrating "huge exposition dump right at the beginning" way. It's not that "high" on the fantasy yet, but that's clearly the world they've set up without yet revealing all of it. There's an illegitimate princess, a sleepless knight, and a possible conspiracy following the crowning of a new king. The art was really good, and because there's relatively little dialogue, it carries more of the weight than a lot of other books. Check it out yo.

I've been exercising less unfortunately as I've had other things demanding more of my time. glad that there are people who are keeping this topic going and good to know that others are not slacking off as much as me. but I think I can get back into a good routine later this week. hopefully.

It has definitely been harder recently. The vacation, then Thanksgiving, then getting deathly ill were all setbacks.
