I thought of Macbeth too because of the 'red hands' monologue. For some reason I kept remembering Lady Macbeth in that scene instead of her husband. So I kept thinking it couldn't be that.

You'd probably enjoy it more if you didn't know anything about the series, sure. I kinda fell into that category, because even though I'd read some of the books many years ago, I'd forgotten most of it, outside of a few names. Idris is always worth watching, too.

I kinda liked it, honestly. It definitely exceeded my (low) expectations.

Are there flashbacks in Memento? I've never seen it, but maybe that's it.
