While he's mostly done well since then and is by far the highest ranked FFXII character (no one else is within 10% of him), he hasn't been able to reach those heights again often. He only has two other top 25 finishes. He's struggled recently, too, finishing in the bottom half three of the last four contests. With this performance, Balthier drops a bit from 60.86% to 59.37%, falling past Aerith and landing at 30th place overall. His recent struggles mean his New Era STATS are a decent bit lower. Balthier drops from 54.15% to 52.29% there, falling past Gaius to land at 40th place. --- |

Also, I've found it helps to mute the game so you're only focusing on the flashes and can't be deceived by other sounds like the music. I also take a break every 25 dodges to avoid eye strain. --- |

The thing is that Vaan's not bad for being a nobody lead - there's honestly a ton of those that don't bother me anywhere near the way Vaan does. But with Vaan he is very much all over the game. His inputs are there, they're just all uninformed worthless interjections because of how he has nothing to do with anything. Vaan is one of those characters that, whenever they speak, you just wish they'd shut up and get out. One of my favorite things about Ashe is the fact that she always tells Vaan to shut up whenever he tries to talk during an important scene. --- |
