I mean, a the nerdy kid with glasses got beat up by a bully. What do you do?

You suspend the bully. Then what? The bullies' friends now see the nerdy kid with glasses as the jerk who dared get the school involved because he's not man enough to fight his own battles, and he got their friend suspended. So if they weren't bullying him at first, they're probably going to start then.

In fact, pretty much anything the school does will likely end up making the bullying victim even more a target.

The problem is that schools tend to treat instances of bullying as isolated incidents instead of seeing them as a whole. Like a kid got beat up one day, or things like that. But the real problem is the microagressions. Little things, pushes and shoves, every single day. That's the day-to-day reality, and each particular incident is just not serious enough to do anything about.

But then what do you do about it?

The principal comes in the class to have a talk and threaten the bullies? Then the victim becomes a snitch who went to tell and so he gets bullied even more.

From my experience. And then if you do stand up to them, you get punished for it.

The only way a school will legit do something is if someone died. Other than that.. .ya no.

Besides, complaining to the school about bullying usually just makes it worse because now the bullies are pissed off that you snitched so they're going to bully you even more.

I spent some years going back and forth between Montreal and Vermont, and man, as soon as you cross the border into the US... it's just not the same man. In Vermont you can just drive smoothly, no problem at all. But in Montreal you're basically zigzagging around potholes

It's a little known fact that gamefaqs actually predates the internet. In the old days we would carve our responses into a potato and throw it into a pile. Because of this it's hard to track exactly how long people have been using gamefaqs because those potatoes have long since rotted away.

The problem is that society still associates reproduction with sex, when it shouldn't have anything to do with it.

If all babies are just prepared in vitro with anonymous donors, labs can just deliver babies to couples for a fee. Therefore the association between sex and babies will be lost.

The colder it is, the better.

I drink a good cup of whisky until I feel dizzy, then I go out in the frigid weather for a walk.
