I literally clocked in for 8 hours a day sitting on my ass twiddling and my thumbs for almost 2 years before deciding to quit (I mean there was some work, but it was sparse and not very intellectually stimulating). --- |

When I was a kid and in my teens I'd figure out a new game immediately and just destroy it. It would be cake. Now it's just fucking hard and I have to spend a lot of time to acclimate myself to it. It's like this for everything right now. I'm trying to pick up the guitar and holy crap is it brutal. I've been at it for months and I still don't feel comfortable. When I picked instruments as a child though, I would feel very comfortable after a few months of practicing. In terms of learning new concepts, I can't understand them immediately. I really have to sit down and think about them. Back in high school I'd understand them the first time learning about them. It really sucks. --- |

The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. Theres also Ricks nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that theyre not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldnt appreciate, for instance, the humour in Ricks existential catchphrase Wubba Lubba Dub Dub, which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenevs Russian epic Fathers and Sons. Im smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmons genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. Its for the ladies eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that theyre within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid --- |
