TopicWhat pistol should I get for a first gun
Patchwork

Lotta revolver talk in here. While theyre cool to have at some point, its a strange choice for a first gun at this point in time.

There are a lot of things to consider when choosing your first gun, and the best advice that was given here is to go to a range and rent a few different pistols and calibers and see how they feel to you.

Additionally, consider if this is for concealed carry or if youre going to open carry. I love full size handguns because theyre smooth to shoot and usually very accurate, but some people dont have the frame to comfortably conceal a full size pistol.

Fortunately, the CCW market is more competitive than ever. The Sig 365 and Springfield Hellcat Pro give you smaller frame pistols, optic ready, that you can more easily conceal. And you dont need to sacrifice capacity.

I dont disagree that boxing protects stars, but I think Fury had him by a narrow margin on points.

Francis looked incredible, though.

I wouldnt have led with the guys overturned conviction as the primary focus; it already paints the police as being in the wrong.

Whether you agree or not I would think you'd understand he 'acted like that with cops' at least partially due to terrible past with them...

He was choking a police officer and calling him a bitch when he was shot.

Both of them almost went out onto the highway during the struggle, the taser had a minimal reaction and did not achieve a body lock-up, and there is zero reason why that officer would think this man was not trying to kill him at the moment shots were fired.

The headline on that article was perfectly crafted to fan the flames.

yeah, they can go and "eliminate" all of Hamas right now, but that doesn't mean there won't be an entire new generation of 'terrorists' 10-20 years from now. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the US itself got hit by another terrorist attack in the next 10-20 after we spent 2 decades making the middle east hate us

I wouldnt be surprised in the least if there was another terror attack in the U.S. in the near future, for a number of reasons.

We spent 20 years in the Middle East killing and then half-ass rebuilding, and our government never committed to the latter. Then we left abruptly, abandoning a lot of people who had aided us. And I know its weird to say abrupt after 20 years, but we badly botched our draw-down and exit.

We also support Israel, and that has always put us on Hamas shit list (rightfully so, fuck Hamas).

Despite recent efforts, were not going to be on good terms with Iran any time soon, and Hezbollah would love to drag us into more war.

And we have a border issue, widely publicized, which is a glaring national security flaw when we talk about terrorism concerns.

I hope Im wrong, but the world is in a very volatile state and I dont have high hopes that we will be insulated from that, especially given how involved we are from a distance.

Darryl Cooper did a pretty good rundown of the entire history behind the conflict, where he lays blame on pretty much all parties involved for the atrocities that have been committed.

Hamas itself should be hunted to extinction, but the amount of bloodshed that it will take to kill your way to that end result is staggering.

There are countless historical examples of just how difficult it is to stamp out these types of groups.

Russia was bled by the Chechens before deciding to level entire cities.

The U.S. was bled for 20 years by the Taliban, Al Qaeda, then ISIS. It took house-to-house fighting in every city to create green zones, and even then, you cant ever stamp out hate (especially when it runs as deep as it does in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict), so there are always insurgents lurking.

I dont have a solution, and neither does history, but it is terrible to see the human cost of this and that it will cost more lives still.

i mean let's look at the fake news about the guy who they claimed triggered the fire alarm to delay the vote so they can read it and i wish this was true but people jumped on him wanting him fired for possibly doing a common scene move if he had done it like allow people to read before voting so they don't sneak anything in it and look and behold they did just that

I think the both sides aspect is that both sides most definitely shove bills through without giving the opposition ample time to even read them.

You can though it still needs to be shipped to an FFL dealer (usually a gun store) and you still need to go through a basic background check like you would if you bought it at a gun store.

That being said, this only applies to the lower receiver. You can buy gun parts (barrel, stock, handguard, muzzle device, etc) and ammo online and have it shipped straight to your house. You can even buy an 80% lower (a lower receiver that hasn't been finished), ship it to your house, finish it with a drill press or a CNC router, and have a complete gun with no background check.

Also no serial number, if you go the 80% route.
