If I bet there's 2 1s, the next player has to either bet there are 3 or more 1s or bet on how many 2s there are, and so on. To end a round you can call out the last player who bet as a "liar" and everybody reveals their dice. If there's less than what they bet, they lose, but if they were right, you lose.

Some people liked Super Paper Mario (Wii game that came out after TTYD) and though that one definitely wasn't for everyone it still is a great game. Just not as good as TTYD. I haven't played Origami King but I know for sure Color Splash and Sticker Star both range from mediocre to outright bad. Origami King at least didn't make it detrimental to get into fights. You still had to buy your attacks, but the attack items lasted for multiple uses and were worth the money since finishing a fight on your first turn would get you enough bonus money by itself to pay for them, never mind the base money for the fight. Course your gear was what needed to be leveled up if you wanted to not yet your ass kicked or take forever to kill things. That said I eventually had a setup that gave me 99.4% crit rate at full health and could one-shot mercenaries with 8-digit sneak attacks so you can still get pretty OP.

The HD version does have an option for more standard controls. They change it so that the sword is controlled with the right stick.My only issues with the motion controls were the Loftwing controls... having to flick up then down to go faster was annoying, especially since that obviously will cause you to change directions while doing so. Then there's the hilariously bad PC port with Killer Croc sometimes having active camo with his character model only appearing for a few frames at a time during his fight lol. Gameplaywise it also felt a bit off during combat to me, like you had to purposely wait a few frames before attacking again because sometimes your attacks could whiff and break your combo.
