Trying to remember the alternate (now canon) ending, he lets the vampire lady go to her husband and doesnt extract the cure from her, right?

Basically. It's an interpretation of the novel ending where he realizes that this new species of beings have their own culture and structure and that his attempts to "fix them" are basically turning HIM into a boogeyman to this new species. Like... they're gonna be just fine without him and he is actively torturing them in his attempts to "fix" them.

Made by Treasure in 1995, you can tell this was a later lifespan Genesis title just by LOOKING at it. Crisp colors and visuals, it was really getting the most out of the Genesis at this point. Some reviewers at the time were not as keep on the isometric angle they chose to utilize, with some reviewers going as far as to give it like... 6/10 due in no small part to that isometric angle. Others went as high as the 9/10 range as well, so you know... 90's reviews, they were nuts. It was the last game that Treasure would make for the Genesis, moving onto the Saturn and eventually other systems not in the SEGA world after that.

About 14 bucks for a loose copy and 36 complete in box, the low price point owes a lot to the fact that Light Crusader was made available on the Wii, the Switch, and many other systems due to its inclusion in Sega Genesis Collection bundles. It is currently on STEAM for $1.19... which is the regular price. I would assume on sale you can get it for probably 50 cents or so if you so desired.

Yeah. Western Culture tends to live in fear of death and are terrified of the fact it happens. Make no mistake about it, I miss my wife terribly. Despite all her suffering and all that put me through as well, I loved our time together and had my wife wanted to live out her life until the exceptionally bitter end I would have done so. We have no kids, she LITERALLY would live in pure and utter agony for my benefit. I would never have asked her to do that. Ever.

The thing with weight loss is that some people will say you can target it, but you can't. Where your body decides to drop weight is kinda random to your genetics.

You can target muscle growth in specific areas to sculpt your body, but losing fat in specific places? Not so much.

Based on the "hit" 1995 film, Judge Dredd came out on a bunch of different platforms, including the SNES, Game Boy, Game Gear, and DOS/Windows. What sets it apart from MANY other adaptations from films is the fact that like... the film is only the first half of the game? The devs decided "Fuck it" and went on to incorporate elements from the comics as well, with an eventual face-off with Judge Death. While perhaps not a quintessential run and gun platformer, I recall really enjoying the sound effects in particular and it just felt a little more serious than lots of other games that were similar in design.

It is not a hidden gem nor does it seem to have a cult following. Price Charting has it around 10 bucks for a loose copy, and about 25 for it complete in box. As far as my limited research goes, it was never re-released or anything of that nature.

It is a mediocre game for a mediocre film based off an amazing source material that probably could have had a dozen amazing games by now, but I don't know if it even has one that is better than mediocre? Were you THE LAW in Judge Dredd?

The heaps of praise it gets is well deserved. I think that the devs just decided to have some fucking fun and were inspired by all the crazy things they saw in Mario Maker and when they found people liked it when levels would dramatically change and whatnot, the leash was let off.

The mechanics are solid, the game can be made easy mode if you want, hard mode if you want, the badges add just enough variation for different play styles (Boosting Spin Jump usually for me), and it feels like the first true evolution to 2D Mario like... since the SNES?

This touched a nerve. But otherwise...

I've been avoiding this topic for a long time. I didn't think my heart could handle seeing you suffer through the loss. I finally decided I should look it over and see how you're doing.

I'm so relieved and glad to see that you're doing well. Of course it looks like there are still bad days too. But overall you seem to be in a good place with friends and family(sorry to hear about your brother being sick though). You really do seem to truly enjoy your job, and the people in your life. It's been bittersweet catching up on your posts in here, but mostly uplifting. You're a strong person and I have a lot of respect for that, and the good that bring to the community. You're a good person at heart and that absolutely shines through in every post I've seen you make. Stay strong, and of course if things get rough, we'll be here for you too.

Thank you, I do feel a lot of support in this topic, and I'm surrounded by people who are supportive of me. You said a lot of wonderful things about me, thank you.

I think Bittersweet is the perfect word for it all. I do have to remind myself often that my wife was already dying. Regardless of my having lived with her and seen for myself the ravages of the medical problems she had to fight, it became so normalized to me that like... I still at times almost don't believe that she was dying? My wife was an incredibly strong woman and for as awful as she felt, when we were together she would hide it or just kinda grit through it all. I sometimes forget that ultimately what happened was that my wife did not have to just wait in agony until something bad enough happened that would have put her into the hospital and never to come out.

And while that is somewhat grim and sad, it's just what the reality is for a lot of people who pass away with medical complications... and I think it was wonderful that my wife could pass away holding my hand after we went to see a movie, you know? I wish it could have been at home rather than out of province but the sad truth is that without MAID, she would have waited for something horrible to happen, we go to the hospital, and for however long she could make it there she would live out the rest of her life there.

Personally when my health fails to that level I hope I'm given the opportunity to go out to a movie with my wife or someone else I love, get comfy in a couch, fall asleep and never have to wake up again.

Her brother is just ignorant, plain and simple. He's not a BAD person, but if something doesn't make sense to him, it is wrong. Her mom, I guess technically my mother-in-law? She is a nurse in the mental health field and would routinely threaten to have my wife "put away" in her teenage years as a threat. We also thought she was bipolar as she was capable and at times was a caring parent, but then would just be horrible and threatening the following week.

Honestly moving forward I want nothing to do with them outside of her godmother. She is a gem and I know will be understanding of what happened.

Waiter friend told me many, many years ago you should not do this. (He worked Red Lobster. It might have been specific to that one, but I've taken it generally as a rule, and just bring the plates closer to the edge instead of stacking them.)

Here's the shortest article I could find to relay why not. The answer mostly amounts to: they were trained a certain way, or they have their own system and you're just making it hard for them.

They appreciate the thought, but just wish you wouldn't. Most of the time.

I feel like that article is about "fancy" restaurants, not like mainstream Mid places like a Red Lobster or Denny's or whatever.

I wrote accompanying letters to her brother and her godmother as sort of explanations as to what happened and why they were not informed of Lindsay passing away before now, nor that she was exploring that option.

I gave them both my e-mail address because that I can process and answer to on my own time. If I pass along my phone number, if her brother or family are fucking pissed off at me, that would be really disruptive to my life. At least via e-mail I can sorta take it on my own time.

I honestly have no idea how her brother will take the news. I could see him wanting to try to find me and beat the shit out of me, but I could also see him being very sweet and wanting to ask me questions about her life when he wasn't part of it in the last 5-6 years or so. He has the capacity for both.

I feel like such a fucking coward not having been able to do this until now. Lindsay passed away in July, it's November. His sister has been dead for nearly 4 months now and he will only hear about it when he receives my letter. Ultimately it is what Lindsay requested I do and I will follow through with her final requests, but is still awkward.

My weight lost have stalled. I think I am going to do something wild.

I am going on the chick-Fil-A diet. I know by body is different but when I was in college. I hate chick-fil-a only for a few months and I lost 40 pounds. Then I had to bulk up and then shit when to hell after that. But I might try that again. I mean at this point I don't think it could hurt.

I wouldn't want you to do anything that would send you the other direction though.

Do you have any way you can speak with a nutritionist/dietician? There might be other things going on in your body that can impact potential weight loss, if you have a thyroid problem for example. It might not be anything to do with something you need to change diet wise and it could be other health stuff.

My main thing is that the whole schtick is getting boring with Seth. Love the guy, he is a good wrestler, but this storyline is holding back other stories and makes everyone who loses seem weak in comparison.

I don't mind Reigns holding onto that belt but I thought that's why we would create this one for RAW, so we can have actual storylines revolve around it. The only good thing about it is that at least he isn't retaining every single time with interference from a stable.

I'm getting REALLY fucking sick and tired of super Seth.

"He has the worst injury he's ever had in his career!! How can he keep fighting?!" - every match Seth has been involved in for the last 4 months

Why make a second title and have it be another long term holder? Especially when you have a built in excuse. You couldn't give Sami Zayn a fucking world title win with such a built in excuse?! Hell, you could make that be the long term story telling

Yeah yeah, I'm a mark, they have me, blah blah blah.

One of the first RTS games, and named as inspiration for Warcraft, Starcraft, Dune 2, and Command and Conquer, Herzog Zwei was an innovator and is now recognized for its contribution to the creation of the RTS genre. At the time? It didn't do very well commercially, and while it did have relatively good reviews from MOST outlets, EGM (which in 1990 was pretty substantial for game coverage) gave it a 4.25/10. It has since gotten some TLC with a Sega Ages remaster release on the Switch, and a release on the Sega Genesis Mini 2.

Pricecharting has it at around 33 bucks loose, 85 bucks complete in box. The Sega Ages Remaster on the Switch is 9 bucks Canadian (I live in Canada, what can I say, I'm not gonna price it all out for you in YOUR country) which seems like a pretty good deal. Beyond the Genesis and Switch version, and the re-release on the Mini 2, it's not really available in any other capacity.

Did you get down with Herzog Zwei?
