But I agree, there isn't an excuse at this point for officers to not have body cams. I don't know what rules are currently in place but that shit needs to be mandated, at the federal level if it needs to be (though I doubt that can happen) and if there isn't a REALLY good fucking reason for the body cam being off then people need to start getting investigated.

Is it fair though? The news aired a clip from a neighbors camera. You cant really see what happened, but you can hear what happened. And it really is as quick as the family's attorney said. Not to mention, it's yet another instance where police fired far, far too many shots (at least 20 shots)

Look, if more info comes out I'm more than willing to change my mind on this, but based on what had been reported it sounds justified.

How long exactly do you expect somebody to stand there aiming gun at you? Do you wait one second? Two? 10? Do you expect the cops to wait until they have been shot at, potentionally killed before action is taken?

The shots fire is irrelevant. You don't shoot to kill or wound, you shoot to stop the threat, which means you keep firing until the threat doesn't exist.

Now if they fired until he was down and no longer threat, and then kept pumping rounds into him, that would be excessive. I haven't watched this camera yet so I don't have an opinion on that yet.

This boring ass topic again... and of course it is on an alt.

Morning started off routine, rolled out of bed, fed the cats, threw some logs on the fire, boiled some water. I was sitting in my office chair, browsing CE and YouTube, when out of nowhere my lower back was in excruciating pain.

I didn't even move, I was sitting perfectly still when it happened. I drug myself up so I was standing and the pain started to subside right away, although it still felt really sore. I have PTSD (not literally) from kidney stones I had 5 years ago so every time I have back pain I get a little panicky. Hobbled myself to a bathroom and took a hot shower, felt great, still sore getting out.

Well that loosened me up so I needed to poop and after a minute sitting on the toilet it happened again, just debilitating pain in my lower back. Got myself cleaned up, took another quick shower, got dressed and now I'm sitting in my truck waiting to see if the sharp pain returns.

I'm just sore right now, like if you'd pulled a muscle, but I don't want to crash my truck if it suddenly gets worse. Been waiting for like 10 minutes now, and after typing this I'm not sure I want to go now.

This sucks :(
