She's got a lot of emotional baggage. I used to watch some of her reactions, but had to stop when she basically had a mental breakdown watching Godzilla vs Kong. She wanted them to be friends and not to fight, and everytime they did she had to pause the movie and spend several minutes calming herself down.

My father is surprisingly tech savvy in his old age, but he does not at all follow any of the cringey online trends.

My mother is anything but tech savvy, and the only internet stuff she knows is the stuff that I show her. She likes it when I spend a couple of hours showing her cute animal videos.

I'm currently semi-retired from playing competitively, but when I was still all in just a couple of years back, I was good at spamming and making people mad and getting them to ragequit and send me hatemail. Good times.

As far as playing "for real" and not being a spammer blah blah, across my decades of fighting game experience, I usually topped out at being advanced intermediate in any fighting game I played. I was never the best, but I was also never the worst. Been playing fighting games since the very first Street Fighter when it was new in the arcades, fyi.

But I'm getting old now and my best days are behind me. I'm getting my ass kicked left and right in Street Fighter 6 from people being adept at the new mechanics that I can't really get the hang of, and I'm like, oh well. I'm mostly playing and enjoying the single player modes, or hanging out in the lobbies with player created avatars, and I'm fine with that.

By the end of the game, it is revealed that Basim was the actual ancient Loki of Norse Mythology reincarnated. They find his still alive body at an ancient First Civilization base, stuck in stasis in an ancient animus. It is revealed that he has manipulated Layla over the course of Valhalla to free him. She gets plugged in, dies, and her spirit joins the spirit of Desmond from AC1 - 3, to forever live on as Animus angels, or whatever the fuck. Basim/Loki then returns to the Leyla and friend's homestead and is all like, "I'm the main character now, deal with it."

So basically Mirage is to develop Basim's early life before he awakens to the fact that's he's Loki reincarnated. And I guess if they make sequels to this, it now has the gimmick of that you're playing as the bad guy.

I went once with a friend to attend EVO Fighting Championship, when it was still being held in a Cesar's Palace ballroom. It was the year that they had Adam Sessler as a special guest commentator for the Street Fighter 4 finals, and he had absolutely no clue as to what he was talking about, lol. Total stunt casting.

Everyone was an asshole in the media I used, but that sort of balanced out into a blanket understanding. Like, if literally everyone calls everyone else the same insult, it stops being an insult and works like a greeting instead.

Having to mind your manners too much is something you do with people that can never truly be in your default comfort zone. Work friends get manners. Couch friends call each other assholes, constantly.

Oh don't get me wrong, there are and have always been assholes everywhere, but before everything and everybody was connected and overexposed by the internet, you didn't have to experience most of it. Out of sight, out of mind.

Can't go on the internet anymore these days without cringing at some asshole behavior bullshit.

I am both old enough and young enough to know what life was like before the internet and cell phones, but to now also be spoiled by them and take them for granted.

I miss magazines being plentiful and not everyone being an asshole on social media, but I also now have a minor conniption if my service goes out for a while.

Well, she's an apprentice to a master named Baylan Skoll, so, probably.

They've added a few wrestlers as paid DLC, added several free costumes and alt colors to base roster members, added a few minigames, and added a whole 30 player battle royale mode (Stadium Stampede) for free.

They're going to massively keep updating and overhauling Fight Forever for the next few years. No "Fight Forever and Ever" or "AEW '25".

Did they change it? Way back before I ragequit the game when I couldn't beat the dragon boss, the game specifically told me that lowering the difficulty prevents progression past the first area.

I wanted to love the game, but the endearing animation, music, and artstyle are antithetical to it's arbitrarily high difficulty.

I was expecting him to answer all the questions with, "Diglett." Might've been funnier, but this was funny too.

I live on the far end of the block down from my town's Main Street. There are homeless people at about every other block of Main Street on average. Saw a guy sleeping under his blanket on a bench just the other day.

The pandemic hit our town kinda hard, and several buildings have been either for lease or abandoned for a long time now, perfect for homeless squatters. There's also a church down the way that acts as a sort of unofficial homeless shelter.

I'll be turning 43 come January.
