It's beyond weird to me why obvious alts even bother with the "I'm not an alt" thing. There are so many better options, and ones that would even help build credibility. Not acknowledging posters that point it out.. just admitting they're an alt but refusing to say whose..

Yeah, but Quake can't help himself. The "you've been on this site for X years, you're a loser/have a bad home life/can't get laid/whatever" is a calling card that he's utterly addicted to throwing out.

It's a couple having a bit of a fumble in a dark theatre. I'm not going to clutch my pearls in horror just because I don't like the person doing it.

I'd agree if they were like, alone in the back of the theater, but they were right in the middle with people all around them. It means everybody around them basically had to listen to it, if not outright see it. Theaters during plays also don't get nearly as dark as movie theaters.

Like, do these massive companies not have air gap solutions on their shit or something? You would think companies of this nature, this large, would have top notch security protocols and technology. If their cyber security is anything like their camera systems this shouldn't happen in 2023, even with the front line of IT getting cracked.

First responders are trained to recognize fentanyl overdoses so they can give narcan in the first place. Thus, something about the situation screamed "fentanyl overdose" to them. We'll have to wait for more details.

Not really. Like GameStop has plenty of promotions for abuse. Like that one time they ran a buy 4 get two free promotion at the same time as a 60% extra credit promotion for trading in 6 games at once. People made thousands of dollars trading in and buying certain games over and over again that day at different stores that day.

So, your argument is "GameStop runs lots of promotions that people abuse, so it's okay for me to also abuse the system."

Only one or two, I believe, and I think he only did it because they were gonna turn him into the police. He did show distaste at their bigoted remarks, but I don't think he would have killed them if they hadn't tried to call police on him.

...That has literally nothing to do with returns, and I feel like you knew that. When you buy a game that has already been opened from GameStop, even if it's "New," you get the "Preowned" return policy, so this doesn't apply.

Basically, either you take advantage of a sale/promotion, with the knowledge that... The game will get to you when it gets to you, or you ignore those sales/promotions and buy it Day 1. TC wanted to do both. He wanted the discount AND to get it day one, so he tried to abuse the system, and people frowned on that. Seems pretty fair.

Eh, the way he asked implied he had already done it. "I wanted to play release date, so I bought it from GameStop and asked if I could return the Amazon copy." is basically what he was saying.

In my experience, retailers who offer special discounts/etc. do NOT offer release date delivery, so this is basically a case of the TC trying to abuse the system to get the best of both worlds.

The organization isn't good tbh. They're a surveillance organization who targets consensual sex workers and were big supporters of FOSTA. They've targeted a lot of consenting adults, and that shouldn't be okay. It's no surprise one of its founders supports a serial rapist.

There used to be a woman who would do this for like, NBA halftime shows, from much greater distances. I think she basically lost work because people stopped finding it "cool." Kinda sad.

To be fair, he did make a rather lengthy statement that basically amounted to "I'm a fucking dumbass," which is a lot more than most do.

For example, the issue I'm hitting is that I received about a year of technical training, and then the rest of my experience is all on the job. I have over 7 years of on the job experience. HOWEVER, I do not have a matching college degree. Thus, a lot of jobs pass me over purely for lacking the degree, despite the actual job experience. It's incredibly frustrating.

As a software developer who was let go in January due to budget cuts and is STILL searching for a job... I get it. The stress of applying to jobs and not even getting an interview can just break you down.

Honestly? Respect for this. The organization is a good thing, and he realized the move he did was stupid and would impact the org, so he stepped away. Good move, after all of the bad moves he made prior. This makes it more believable that the move he did regarding Masterson was just a dumb, personal driven move without much thought behind it.
