What you're missing is that the basic view of transphobes is not something that has any basis in reality. We know enough to say definitively that one side is wrong.

There was a time when we still didn't understand transgenderism and it was debatable whether a trans woman was a woman, or just a man who was "confused" or "sick" and needed to conform to the gender she was assigned at birth. But not anymore. Medical science has proven it definitively. Trans men are not pretending to be women, they're not delusional, and we can't "fix" them so that they can be happy as their "correct" gender.

Arguing this is like arguing the Earth is flat or that you can cure COVID-19 with horse dewormer. It's wrong, end of story.

Oof, took me 8 minutes. I got stuck for so long because I thought 2 down was "arch" and I kept trying to make those two on the right side fit.

I eventually turned on Auto Correct to solve it. Which felt like cheating, but I never would have gotten it otherwise.

I wasnt that worried about maxing him instantly. I hope youre not suggesting that putting bugs in odd corners of buildings is easy.
Look, you were specifically comparing Wriosthely's materials to other characters, and compared to them it's definitely easier. Not even close to being as bad as having to comb huge swaths of desert and (at the time) unmapped underground caverns, to collect a bunch of bugs that blend in with the background and will disappear if you're too slow. Also easier than having to climb cliffs and mountains for flowers and mushrooms, or having to run all over the place to zap purple clouds with electro, or those lumps of wenut poo that were also in unmapped caverns. Oh, and then there were the onikabuto beetles, spread out in a lot of hard to reach locations, and annoyingly most of them were right next to other local specialties so you couldn't even use character passives to find them faster.

The process of ascending characters with gathered materials so that you can level them is in and of itself dumb, lets not go down the path of it isnt so bad.
That's not a discussion I was having, either. Again you specifically compared this to other materials, and I disagree about it being as bad as them.

In fact in general Fontaine has been making local specialties less of a pain to collect, which is good because the trend seemed to be that it was getting worse as we went through Inazuma and Sumeru.

I'm going to disagree on the Wriosthely materials, I farmed them and it's nowhere near as bad as the scarabs. The mechanical bugs are spread over a smaller area, they're clustered together more, and almost all of them appear in ruins of the old research center that are easily visible from a distance and written on the map. I did one run where I went through everything using a guide to learn the locations, then it was three quick runs of less than five minutes each. Much less hassle than any of the Sumeru materials, and better than a lot of them in other areas too.

Anyway you had three weeks to farm his materials. If you knew you were going to pull for him, and you're so precious about having him maxed out the moment you get him, then you shouldn't have waited. That's on you.

There's nothing inherently wrong with having self checkout be an option available. But the technology to replace all cashiers with self checkout just isn't there yet.

Stores that try to jump the gun are screwing over both workers AND customers.

The photo doesn't portray a problem with self checkout specifically. It portrays a problem of not enough checkouts, period. The issue would be the same if it was the same limited amount of regular checkouts.
Based on context, it's obvious that the photo is obviously showing one of the main problems the TC has with self checkout, which is that it makes the lines too long. Is this proof positive that self checkout was the reason for the long lines? No. I mean, TC could be exaggerating or even lying I suppose.

But in any case, that photo illustrates what their problem is with self-checkout very clearly. So even if you disagree, saying "I don't understand why" is nonsensical.

To be fair, he said something very close to that. He was talking about his work in congress and it was just a poorly phrased answer:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Gore_and_information_technology#Urban_legend_that_Gore_claims_to_have_invented_the_Internet
It's really not that poorly worded though. In the context of the speech, it's very clear that he's talking about early initiatives to create what would later become the internet. And that he's not taking credit for "inventing" it, just for being one of the people in congress who saw its potential and supported it early on. Which was true. And everyone listening at the time understood this.

But then it got taken out of context and changed into something very different.

TopicHave a lot of indie devs moved on to N64 level graphic games?
action52

I assume you mean 3D? Because indie games already frequently have much higher resolution, bigger color palettes, and lots of other technological capabilites that the SNES couldn't do.

But moving into 3D is difficult for indie developers because the amount of work-hours needed to make them increases exponentially. A small team can make a high quality 2D game quite easily. Even a single person could make one that looks and sounds good if they have the talents for it.

But most kinds of 3D games require dozens of people to make competently. Modern AAA games use hundreds. Generally any indie games that are 3D use shortcuts, like how No Man's Sky is almost all procedurally generated. So I don't know if we'll ever get many indie games that are 3D. Indie games aren't just going to move on a trajectory the same way that major game companies did. Those companies had to gradually increase their staff and resources in the late 90s and 2000s in order to follow that trend.

Obviously indie games can't do that, because they won't be indie anymore.

The funniest thing about that article was that after the Sun got criticized for it, they put out a statement pointing that another, more mainstream publication had written an article saying the same thing (albeit in a less clickbaity way that didn't strongly imply it was the "wrong" interpretation). They thought it would be a good "gotcha" that pointed out liberal hypocrisy. Instead they just told everyone that they were such a shitshow of a newspaper that in order to come up with content, they had to leech off of other newspapers' trash articles and making them even shittier.

The reason people used to say "girlfriend" and not "boyfriend" to mean a friend is because that's the way homophobia worked.

People assumed that no one would ever be openly homosexual so "girlfriend" became a cutesy way of referring to someone as your friend for women.

But for men, the stigma of being homosexual was a lot stronger. So men would never call another man his boyfriend because that would sound unmanly and open him up to being made fun of.

I think it's become less popular now that homosexuality is more normalized. Women stopped doing it because it can be confusing, and men have no reason to start.

A lot of people need a PC for work and stuff, meaning they need the PC regardless of whether they have an Xbox. And buying an Xbox might be cheaper than trying to have their PC constantly upgraded and optimized to play the newest games.

Now, if you are spending hundreds of dollars every year to keep your PC ready to play the latest games and you have an Xbox on top of it, that may be a little weird. Or at least very wasteful.

Salad is really good too.

Pasta and entrees are okay but bland.

Back when the prices were lower, I would go for lunch, get one the cheapest options on the menu and pig out on the bottomless breadstick and salad bowls.

Now that the prices are a lot higher, it's nowhere near as good of a deal.
