so the normal turn-on process is (once the HUD is on, which it was):

1.) hold power button
2.) hold down safety clamp
3.) release safety clamp

when it shut off i was first so confused like wtf bro. then tried to turn it back on and just did:

1.) hold down safety clamp
2.) press and release power button

the latter option is how you start the self-propel without starting the blades. so i would feel it pull forward just a hair after trying this a few times and feeling the self propel working. which is what really set me off because i thought it was one of those "it thinks it's mowing so all systems are gonna be showing green" things which are super annoying to me

false alarm

always controlled and internalized.

if something is super wrong or sets me off (e.g. my lawnmower topic from ten minutes ago), i wait until i can get back to a controlled environment alone. in this case, after the mower farted out and didnt restart, i didnt start punching the mower or jostling stuff or anything like that. instead, i walked calmly back inside, made sure all windows were closed, and just started shouting FUCK and venting to no one. i dont even get physical and throw pillows or punch shit or anything like that, it all ends at yelling.

generally speaking, it takes a lot to get me to this point at all. prior to the lawnmower today, i cant remember the last thing that got me to that point.

tldr im the calmest mf of all time in public and it takes a lot to set me off, but if i get set off, i still always wait until im alone to blow off steam

first time homeowner earlier this year. lawncare has been a bit of a nightmare so far. not because it's hard or anything but because my tools are just ass.

first lawnmower was a hand-me-down but still a great machine. john deere. guy completely refurbed it too because he has a newer one but enjoys doing stuff like that. changed the oil, cleaned filters, new spark plug, etc. all new. after a few mows, it unexpectedly craps out mid mow. turns out to be the carborator. we buy a new one and he puts it in. works great for another 6-7 mows until one day it just doesn't start. based on what we tell him, he says yeah that's the engine, nothing he can do at that point that wouldn't cost nearly as much as just getting a new one. so i'm like alright that's all fine. i'm always leery of hand-me-downs because generally it's just people trying to get rid of stuff. that certainly wasn't his key intention here because he made two trips up here just for servicing it. either way, i knew it would eventually crap out, but not this quickly.

so whatever, it is what it is. i had lawnmower budgeted into the move-in process anyways. so we go out and get a funky new electric one, EGO something, self propel, totally electric. it's great. pretty much out of the box and ready to go after the battery is charged.

mow three times. all great. in my fourth mow today. it's going rrrrrrrrrr like normal, but suddenly goes rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRP. and then stops. like it hit a super thick patch of grass or something. and it just stopped. the HUD is still on, battery is fine, self propel works, nothing showing even close to "overload" or anything like that. basically, it thinks it's mowing when i restart it (after taking out the battery and letting it rest, even though with electric i figured that's pretty futile), but the blades aren't actually turning.

absolute clownshow. i despise how having a good lawn is just an expected thing. dont get me wrong, i'm happy to mow once a week or 10 days or whatever. it gets me out and walking around and stuff, and watching it grow has been satisfying. but jesus tap dancing christ. this is complete nonsense.

Before I make a judgement on this, I need to know what they mean by trying to enter the house. Was he knocking on the door. In that case throw the shooter in jail. Was he breaking in, in that case things are different. But no report have given a clear picture yet .

seems like the only rational approach to have at this point until we get more info.

I was walking around earlier today and encountered a shiny Moltres. I was shocked as fuck, I don't know how often a Pokemon like Moltres would come up, and it being shiny is even more rare. But I tried to catch it and it ran. Pretty bummed about that.

Was it Galarian Moltres? Red and black colors?

Those are hilariously low spawn rate and low catch rate. Not impossible, but not easy.

But if it's any copium, it wasn't a shiny you lost. Just a normal one.

They need to ditch the open world stereotype and focus strictly on hogwarts and hogsmede. Develop the classes more. Develop your classmates more. Add quidditch.

Hogwarts itself was so well done with such a great ambiance. Use that to tell a great linear character-driven story. Maybe even go through multiple years or something like that.

There's tons of potential. The game was solid enough but the open world part was easily the weakest. Just more generic fast travel --> arrive at icon --> complete icon --> open map --> identify next icon --> repeat.

Pretty nice haul today. Audino and upwards was all today. I am pretty disappointed at the lack of variety in the legendary raids though. We really just doing the weather trio and that's it? No chances at anything else?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a gen 3 baby, but there's a few legendaries I'd like to get my hands on that I don't really get the opportunity for.

All that aside, looking forward to tomorrow. This was only about five hours, we bailed towards the end because we were getting tired. Better get me a shiny rayquaza and/or kyogre.

probably not THAT lost, right? raids would be confusing at first and gyms have been redone, but i dont think there's really any change to the core gameplay loop.

like, the only five things i know how to make. which is fine, it's a decent selection, but my bigger issue is sides. corn on the cob is the only thing i can do on the grill. even without the grill, i have a staggeringly low menu selection of sides. it's like, brussel sprouts and asparagus. anything else is just frozen, like frozen fries. my gf does mashed potatoes well, but beyond that, we're both pretty thin on sides

agreed. i also googled an image compressor that makes it look a hair worse but generally keeps it looking good and uploadable. did that with my spider pic and it still looks close to the same.

Studios are playing dirty, SAG and WGA should play dirty too.

The studios can play dirty because anything dirty will be met with a fine. And as we know, crime isn't illegal for rich people when the penalty is monetary. If there were magical trees that grew back in a day, you bet your ass the studios would trim them every day with no regard for the spare change that they'd be shelling out in fines.

Whereas a striker doing something and getting fined $1k can mean the difference between paying rent that month or being out on the streets.

That sounds insane to me though. In the heat of a vote, if you have a total brain fart and "yay, wait shoot I meant NAY. Nay is my vote." - that's an understandable thing that happens to everyone and it shouldn't change the course of the country.

My issue comes with the fact that SOMEONE ELSE is correcting her. If you brain fart, you're correcting yourself in a matter of seconds. But when you add the external factor of someone who has zero say in the vote, that's where it becomes horseshit.

But politics in this country is a farse anyways, so I don't know why I'm bothering wasting the e-ink whining about it. Nothing will ever change.
