Or at least it should, though if the nail is crushed/damaged it will infuse with dead nail, at it will take a long time for the nail to grow. If you do nothing about it, it could stay like that for years. At least that's how it was for me. It could be different for someone else as ingrown toenails can get bad if you let become bad...
