The testimony by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump this week... whew. They're basically Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. One of the things the AG has to prove in this case is that they acted with reckless abandon for the truth.

Donald Trump Jr. basically said he signed everything without verifying anything was true and didn't do anything to verify the information in the documents he was signing. That's reckless abandon for the truth.

Eric Trump lied and said he wasn't involved in it. Then after being shown emails THAT HE SENT TO THE AG'S OFFICE PRE-TRIAL, he had to admit he was involved. Then he got mad and said they were getting tripped up.

Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump set to testify next week. It's likely gonna be a shit show.

A woman in North Dakota was arrested and charged this week for allegedly killing her boyfriend, who died from poisoning last month, police said. They believe the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Ina Thea Kenoyer, may have had murdered Steven Edward Riley, Jr. for financial reasons.

Basic rundown:

• Steven Edward Riley, Jr. and Ina Thea Kenoyer had been a couple for 10 years
• Steven got an email that a distant relative of his had passed away and he was inheriting $30,000,000 (the answer to your question is yes)
• Steven told his friends he was going to dump Ina once he got the money
• Ina suspected (or possibly knew/heard) Steven would dump him, devised plot to kill him so she could get the inheritance
• Steven starts feeling sick, vomiting, losing consciousness, etc. Friends want to take him to a doctor. Ina says he just has heat stroke and that she would take care of him.
• Steven died. Friends immediately said she poisoned him. She apparently frequently told them she would do it.
• Autopsy finds he had anti-freeze poisoning
• Ina said she did it to get the inheritance.
• When questioned why she would get his inheritance, Ina said they had been together for 10 years, so common law marriage applies.
• Ina is then informed that North Dakota is not a common law marriage state.
• Ina is then informed that the $30,000,000 thing was a scam and there was no inheritance.

The civil trial, no. However, Donald Trump lost his entire New York business empire as a result of a pre-trial partial summary judgement. The NY AG's office provided mountains of uncontested evidence that the defendants committed a persistent pattern of fraud as it relates to inflating the value of Trump's properties. So the judge ordered that their business certificates have to be canceled. Any New York business entity owned by the defendants (Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Allen Weisselberg, and Jeffrey McConney) will essentially be put into a receivership and their assets will be sold off. It will basically be treated like a bankruptcy, from what I've read. The action has been put on hold, though, until the trial finishes. It should be done toward the end of December.

This trial is still happening because there are also allegations of insurance fraud, falsification of business records, and conspiracy to sort out.

Other trials currently happening (all civil):

• Colorado 14th amendment trial to remove Trump from the ballot
• Minnesota 14th amendment trial to remove Trump from the ballot

And then there are hearings going on here and there in Georgia related to the RICO indictment.

The first criminal trial that could put Trump in prison is set to start in early March. It will be for the charges related to the January 6th indictment.

They're going into Allen Weisselberg's severance package where he is currently being paid $250,000 quarterly until $2,000,000 is paid. The $2,000,000 just happens to be the same amount as he was fined for tax fraud in a previous trial. Part of that agreement says he isn't supposed to cooperate with the NY AG's office as it pertains to this trial since the NY AG's office is adverse to them...

Kinda brings up some interesting legal jeopardy for Weisselberg. He's basically being bribed during this trial.

Correct. As I said earlier, I get that Disney Plus needed content and I'm all for more comic stuff but they did it wrong. They should've linked the shows with the films better. For example, if you do WandaVision then have Dr. Strange 2 come out a few months later. Captain America 4 should be released within a year of the Falcon and Winter Soldier show. Werewolf by Night should've been paired with Blade. Limit it to 2-3 shows per year and 2 films that connect to 1 or 2 of the shows.

Of course, I admit this is all said in hindsight.

Just to add to that: Marvel realized they made a mistake with content overload. They're intentionally slowing down the pace of releases.

Because it is. Republicans spent decades trying to dismantle Roe v. Wade while lying to the country about the fact that they were trying to do it. Then Trump literally said during his campaign for president that he would strongly consider appointing justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade.

Sensible folks were shouting from the roof tops about the multitude of reasons why that would be a bad thing, including infant mortality.

Trump appointed 3 very conservative justices. SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade. Red states then jumped at the opportunity to pass extremely restrictive abortion bans, which have also resulted in maternal health care deserts.

Less access to maternal health care = rise in infant mortality.

Judge Chutkan has ordered that jury selection for the January 6th trial in DC will start on February 9th. We're getting close.

I really won't be surprised if the judge starts tomorrow by announcing a gag order for the attorneys as well. We'll see what happens, though.
