When Vegeta distracted Cell, it looked the same in the manga and anime (with the exception of him being SSJ in the anime). | The_Popo 05/28/23 6:03:04 PM #24 | ^All of those items that you listed are instances where the animes version is non-canon. In Dragon Ball and DBZ, the manga was treated as the gospel. If it didnt happen in the manga, it wasnt canon. Toriyama created the manga, and Toei created the anime to reflect his manga. But with Super, there was a weird in-between with the manga and anime. Toriyama essentially gave his notes for the story to Toyotarou for the manga and to Toei for the anime, and they both ran with it. And due to this, there are some major differences. They both get to the same finish line, but there are sometimes some forks in the road. And as a result, neither is seen as more official than the other. Both are derived from Toriyamas notes. If I got any of that wrong regarding the parts from Super, someone feel free to correct me. Im fairly certain that Im right, but not 100%. Several years ago, me and a group of friends booked a trip to rent a car from Hertz, drive through several states, see 3 MLB games along the way, end the trip in Denver, and return home. But when we got to Hertz in the morning, we had the below sign waiting for us in the window. Basically, the sign said Oops, sorry, but nobody is in the building. But someone will be back eventually! It took 2 hours for them to return, and when they did, we gave them our reservation. Only they only had 2 cars available on site, and both had the Check Engine light flashing when we started the car. When we told them that this was unacceptable (we had told them previously that the car would be driven over 1,000 miles) they called a manager who was offsite. With us standing right there, the rep was saying to the manager Its just the check engine light, I dont know why theyre making such a big deal about it. We eventually had to go to another location several miles away to finally get a car. And the whole ordeal set us back like 5 hours on our trip. After all of that, fuck Hertz. Ill never use them again.
