And nope, it has a throttle but I use the pedal assist which matches your pedaling energy with some from the motor. How much it provides per pedal is determined by the pedal assist level you choose. I was going at a very low level to conserve battery, so my legs are toast. With an office chair you could easily carry several extra batteries around and the backpack could comfortably sit on the back of the chair. That way, you could jack it up to max or even go full auto!
