I haven't been actively concerned about viruses in a while but I knew adblockers were essential when I watched in real time my mom get a virus from an ad on Facebook. No downloading anything. No sus pages visited. Just trying to play Farmville or something As a concept, I don't inherently mind the idea of advertisements but considering sites still serve you essentially whatever the fuck because "that's what the ad service pushed" and there is absolutely no tailoring, I don't mind not giving a fuck about a sites ads because sites don't give a fuck about their ads --- The name is wackyteen for a reason.
