80% of the ones you hear about never even make it to human trials because they were able to find out they were crap once push came to shove and more evidence was required to get the approval of/funding for human trials. Sometimes the result of overly enthusiastic scientists but more often it was just a company/research group looking for media hype to garner the attention of investors. Tabloids love to cover these untested miracle drugs to prey on people desperate for good news to make a quick ad revenue click buck. Of the 20% that do, we often don't know exactly why they didn't work. The human body is a mystery with a million factors we still don't know how they interact. Usually some combination of the cancer cells having an easier time mutating an immunity to the treatment in humans and the reason of the cancer forming in the first place never actually being addressed by the drug. --- lions and panthers oh my |

Europe is opposing its approval for some reason and has skeptics of whether it works. And best case it extends the lives of some patients by a few months.
