I don't remember if it was always like this or if it was patched over time but the writing for the characters is all really good. They talk like real people instead of a trope checklist.
It's always been like this and is one of the main draws of the series. Have you been talking to all the NPCs? If not, you really should. It fleshes out the world so much, and their dialogue changes after each major story beat.

Yeah you can do this in pretty much any area with stairs; just crank the turbo up to max and rush up or down a set of stairs and you'll bypass the loading zone most of the time. Works in Zero and Azure as well.

Or at least find yourself wanting more very shortly after?

I know that kinda thing is more common among women but I've never heard a dude mention it. It happens to me sometimes and I find it a bit odd, because 99% of the time I need at least a couple hours.

I have never read the comics or anything like that, but...when he's web-slinging, where does the web go? What does it attach to so he can swing around?

I know he sometimes uses buildings and such, but I'm talking about when he's swinging straight through the sky. This is probably a really stupid question and is most likely a "suspend your disbelief" thing, but it's always bothered me xD

Besides the obvious answer of "they need a job".

I can't think of any silver lining to it; chances are you'll have lines and lines of customers, and with so many customers for 8 hours, you're likely to run into a few bad apples. You also have to keep up the pace and not hold up the line, while the customer you're checking out is watching you do it. Your breaks, if you get any, are also dictated by your manager. AND for someone like me, who fidgets and moves around a lot, standing in one spot for so long sounds like a complete nightmare. Oh, and you gotta hand out and count money quickly.

Seriously, it sounds horrible. I'd honestly rather do fast food before I would ever consider being a cashier.

Nah. I live in blissful ignorance because I am privileged enough to have never had things truly affect my life, aside from things like rising gas and grocery prices.
Considering inflation affects literally everyone except the rich, unless you have a really good source of consistent income, chances are that one thing will end up affecting you a lot in the long term.

That's not even counting anything else bad about the world. It's truly fucked. I feel like the "blissful ignorance" stage of life has passed by me, and I can no longer just get by through ignoring everything (aside from the news and stuff). Adult life is completely terrible.

Why would you assume it's "taking the place" of anything?

The last major mainline Mario game was Odyssey, a fully 3D game. In between that and Wonder was the enhanced port of 3D world with Bowser's Fury - another 3D Mario.

It's actually been a while since they did a full blown 2D Mario in Super Mario U and Luigi U. Which was a launch title for Wii U that even came before the release of Super Mario 3D World on Wii U.
It was just something I heard, but I figured it was bullshit.

I'm at Kashyyyk and just got the ability to swim, but Jesus Christ, the controls are atrocious. I cant get the feel for this at all. It could be an issue with having my laptop plugged into the TV (hard to explain), but I don't know for sure. Is it supposed to control awfully? This is easily the hardest time I've ever had swimming in a video game.

Games I have/have played:

Star Fox 64 3D
OoT/MM 3D
ALBW
Persona Q
Kid Icarus: Uprising (absolutely phenomenal, I just wish it had better controls)
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Dream Team
Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning (bleh)
Mario Kart 7
Smash Bros (a complete waste of time with Ultimate existing)
Fire Emblem: Awakening (it's...alright, but I much prefer the two Switch titles)
Dragon Quest 7 (heard bad things about this remake though, and online getting shut off is going to hurt it)

I think that's it. I might have gotten a few shovelware titles as holiday gifts that I never played, but what are some real killers that I haven't listed here?

Seriously, why is getting back to your ship a science project? I'm back at the turbine facility, and the only route to my ship leads to a gap I cannot cross. If need be, I'll take a pic. If I take the turbine route, all it does is eventually lead me right back to the tomb.
