It was a fun period of life, I never had any romantic relationships and drifted between friendships in high school. So the first few years were like a whirlwind of meeting people and exploring relationships since people actually apparently had an interest in me, of course a lot of them didn't pan out and some were really abusive and exploitative in nature or just weird, but that's life I guess.

It is a puzzle and hidden object game that is light on both puzzles and hidden objects. Also the company that makes it uses a dumb engine that tracks things like if you skip a cutscene or use a hint between save profiles which is why I missed an achievement. Game is short but I'm too lazy to go back, which sucks because I wanted that easy 100%.

Anyway game is pretty bland, it had some funny and shocking moments considering it's a kid's game. Like at one point a skeleton gets possessed, raises a pistol and shoots itself in the head and your character says, "I can't believe that skeleton just shot itself in the head!".

Here's my list of games completed in 2023:

Two Point Campus: Space Academy
Max Payne 2
Two Point Campus: Ghosts
Starship Troopers: Terran Command
Two Point Campus: Medical School
Vampire Survivors
World Keepers: Last Resort

^Why did long distance go bad?
She was talking about getting married after we had connected for like ... maybe two months. And she was saying all the worst things. Like talking about cooking meals every day (turns out we had completely different food tastes, and she really only cared about like... one dish), or keeping me up late and waking me up early to play YT videos over the phone when I had to get up early as hell for a class, or telling me her little brother kept calling me "poop" like that was the cutest thing in the world even though I found it kind of gross.

I was tired and told her we should take it slow. She found some guy to sleep with on Craigslist and basically bragged to me about it, not necessarily in a spiteful way, moreso like a, "Well we're just friends now so I'm going to sleep with some guy and talk to you about it like a friend would", except it was like two days after I told her I wanted to slow down on the marriage talk...

I ended up dating my other high school crush a couple years after graduation, spent a few weeks together then were long distance and it went terribly so I had to call it quits. Think she ended up getting married and having kids or something idk.

Halloween 3 was awesome because it was different. Also the creepy stalker people freaked me out and it takes forever to reveal who they actually are. Just added a different dimension to the whole thing.

Also imo the original three Evil Dead movies and the series Ash vs. Evil Dead were 100% worth it, but I watched the first revival movie (from like... ten years ago now?) and it was pretty not great. Just felt like a thin allegory for drug addiction and missed a lot of the shock factor and weird creations of the originals.

Loved the Phantasm movies, discovered those a long time ago, was impressed they kept making one like every decade with the same cast. RIP Angus Scrimm though.

Are the DLC's worth?
If you like the game and are a completionist or just want to unlock some really OP shit then yeah I think so.

I didn't really care about the characters from Mt. Moonspell but some of the weapons are pretty awesome, like the Four Seasons (causes explosions in a rectangular pattern around your character, with the candalabrador it is extremely powerful) and Summon Night (which causes daggers or... fangs? to drop down from the top of the map and leave temporarily burning lines that cause damage; this starts off weak as hell but with upgrades and the evolution you get full map coverage). There were some weapons that felt kinda samesy as the base game weapons just with slightly better gimmicks, like the 108 Bocce (gives you a short range aura sort of like the Garlic, except the balls around you pop out periodically to give some ranged damage).

Tides of the Foscari is more interesting, though. There is a second map to unlock, it requires you to play all its characters to advance, it gives a weapon set that became a staple for my 100k+ runthroughs, *and* you can unlock probably the most powerful character in the game in it.

I think for the price it's not a bad deal if you are ultimately OK with more of the same, it's not like it introduces revolutionary gameplay mechanics but you do get a little more build variety.

2008 for me was...

The peak of my physical fitness, I was running farther and faster than I ever had before and scored the highest I ever did on my PT test (too bad it was only a practice test).

Was when I had my first girlfriend. Although she didn't want to officially be my girlfriend, didn't want to share or keep or show photographs of us together to anyone, and turned out she was actually dating a married guy who had kids.

Graduated my school and went to my first duty station across the country, where it was muddy and cold and wet and I learned the harsh reality of life without a driver's license (worked fast to rectify that though). And completed additional training.

Found my second girlfriend, but we didn't last long either.

Also started smoking.

Spent a lot of time with friends just hanging out at the mall, being young dorks, it was a fun time.

The problem for me is that I started in Runescape back before the game could even track player account age (i.e., before the anniversary capes become available). Buuuuut... I took a pretty long break not too long after RS2 launched and then I didn't get back into it until after RS3 came out. And of course all my progress is on RS3, and I just love all the QOL updates and additional content that OSRS can't compare to.

And I just don't have the OSRS nostalgia.

Granted the past many years it's been pretty bland... generally the events were concentrated in grounds of the Draynor Mansion and they would have various skilling stations for you to AFK XP in. But they also at least had a few mini-quests and quest-like activities to complete, too.

This year it's just about participating in "Pumpkin Parties" - every 30 minutes a pumpkin party spawns and you just smash pumpkins until the limit is hit, and each drops holiday items with a chance for cosmetics... That's it.

In a way it's kind of similar to early events in the game when you just had random items dropping around the world. But for a modern day MMO and compared to what they've done in the past it's a big step back.

edit: Worst part is they don't even have stuff from previous years, which they built up over the span of several events. I just don't get the logic.

Sneaking in the Ryujin missions is stupidly easy.

The spoiler block that follows does not contain any actual story content, but does have technical details about the missions.

None of the safes or doors you might need to lockpick for a mission are above Novice level, and there are very few that you actually ever have to pick. 95% of the missions send you to areas that are not restricted, so the only "sneaking" you need to achieve is crouching down next to the object you need to interact with and waiting for the other person in the room to turn around/walk away... and of course you can cheese with a quicksave. And, there are a couple missions that require persuasive dialogue - one of these just gives you the correct dialogue choices anyway so you can't fail, and the other one ... I don't even think the outcome makes a significant difference one way or another.
