They didn't just plug the lines into a computer and say "speak," they used an actual person and modified his voice. No voice actor was put out of work and the family gave permission, how is this a terrible thing?

There are several things that kill a JRPG for me (well, at least annoy me): I've never felt so seen lol I thought I was going crazy when I picked up Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and was met with a game with a huge beautiful world with barely any interaction, regular ass monsters that take fucking forever to kill and a battle system that takes a full day of gameplay to finally open up. A few hours in and I found myself googling "is Xenoblade 2 bad" and was met with people saying that around 20 hours the gameplay gets less grindy and the combat really opens up. But like, if your game takes 20 hours to get good, I'm not gonna play it. You can't hit someone with 20 hours of bad gameplay and just tell them "trust me it gets better!" and expect them to stick around. --- *runs out of topic naked* |

Japanese sushi forever ruined American sushi for me, but otherwise after going overseas a few times American cuisine is still a-ok. I watched a video the other day with a Japanese tourist trying American sushi. He was confused at first because it's so different but loved it after the first bite lol. Basically, as young children humans become attuned to the facial features of those around them and have difficulty recognizing facial features of others. Because white people are the majority in America, it results in situations like this that can feel like racism (and really are racist sometimes, honestly). Because minorities get exposed to a wider variety of "others" by nature of being a minority, they're better able to pick out the differences in different races.
Even as a white guy, I experienced this working overseas in East Africa and South Korea. Me and my other white coworkers were pretty indistinguishable to people overseas. Unless I was in a t-shirt with my tattoos visible, they could not get my name right lol. My advice would be to correct them the next time it happens and if it keeps happening go straight to HR, because that is obviously racist if they can't even be bothered to get it right after being corrected and told it's fucked up. That's just advice from a manager though, you're probably better off listening to a person that's experienced racism like that in America. --- *runs out of topic naked* |

Dragons Dogma was a great game that made little impact that apparently bombed in sales. Which I didn't find out until much later and surprised the fuck out of me. Even ignoring the race, it's extremely problematic that the school district can just decide that because you're a boy you can't have long hair. In high school our football coach tried to make us all cut our hair "for safety" because he lied and said helmets wouldn't fit right but everyone basically refused to do it and he backed down. Still, we had awful policies like no "extreme" hairstyles with no guidance on what that actually meant, so if a kid came to school with a little buzzcut mohawk they could send him to the front office and make him buzz the rest of it off too.

That sucks, but I can deal with being in the office. What I can't deal with is the fact that now our parking reimbursements only cover about 60% of our parking fees, so I'm paying money to go into the office. $20 every day, and on a day that I have to head out and meet someone for an interview or do some on-site reporting, I have to go back to the office and pay another $20.
To top it all off, the fucking kiosk in the garage is busted and the touch screen never works, so I get stuck in their constantly waiting for a worker to let me out. I used to not complain because I was barely in the office, but now?
