Starfield is basically a "next-gen" PC game in terms of system requirements if your rig is behind in any area the game's performance suffers greatly.

Unfortunately yes there are moronic devs like Todd Howard who only target present time high-end PCs and don't even bother optimizing their games properly before launch. In those cases PC gaming is pretty crap. But most publishers actually want people to buy their games and don't pull that shit.

Ill be real, and this isnt to start a debate, just talk about my experience; Ive had issues playing Pokmon romhacks and basic ass indie games. PC gaming is just inherently more unstable in my experience. This may be because I dont have all the cool knowledge you need to PC game correctly, but I would submit that I cant be bothered to do all that

It turns out the dude actually destroyed some of my neighbor's property and put some weird marks on some of my property. Calling the police ended up being absolutely justified. IMO, if a neighborhood watch exists at all, then the response from said neighborhood watch needs to be consistent. Most "incidents" will be interactions (at least in my experience from having lived here for 2.5 years), but then there are ones like this where it's justified.

i recently re-subscribed to Game Pass so i could play Starfield along with other games that are coming out that i wanna play (like Lies of P and the new Forza Motorsport). so i installed the game and when i play it, shit is stuttering, lagging and freezing every 5 minutes! sometimes it plays smoothly but then all hell breaks loose! swear this shit is unplayable as hell!

i tried updating my GPU's drivers (i have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super) but the problem persists. and the graphical settings are set to low/medium by default.

Im working with tons of context. About the cops. And how they act. And also the context that there was literally no reason for them to intervene.

Cops are wrong until further evidence (which I find unlikely to be forthcoming) shows they arent wrong, and even then theyll STILL be wrong for getting involved in the first place.

The unreasonable thought process at this point is when you start from the stance the cops were acting correctly.

Their intervention in the situation escalates it by default, because the thing that police officers have that makes them able to intervene is the threat of violence. Thats their entire thing. When cops tell you to do something, the subtext is ALWAYS or else we will arrest you, and if you dont let us arrest you we will respond with violence.

But also, if you call 911 and say the ghost of Christmas past is coming to assault you, theyre not going to send the cops. Theyre going to tell you not to misuse emergency services. Where I live is a mostly safe, but I know no place is really safe. Like looking at the crime map there has only been one larceny in my area. Coding isn't hard as long as you pay attention and make no mistakes when typing the code. The only pain in the ass is testing the code, which you can do in batches rather than all at once.

For example, and keep in mind its been about 6 months since I've done any major programming, so I'm going to get the code wrong:

Or alternately

AKA basic binary. The reason its a pain in the ass is that you have to write values for all statistical data. So, Strength, Defense, Intelligence, etc, not to mention a check for each side quest. That's the only problem with it. When you have multiple people working on the code, that few million lines of code can be finished in a couple months, and then stacked into one program.

I mainly play on PS5 but own the Switch version for portability and its a visual downgrade (looks better in handheld) but is overall fine. Most of these screenshots are cherry picked from a leaked version before the 30GB day 1 patch.

I have played Mass Effect, Dragon Age and all three Witcher games. All of them imported story decisions which there are none in Final Fantasy VII Remake. None of them imported levels and abilities. Some have bonus gear and starting at a slightly higher level but you always start at a low level again.

That's how those games worked. You're upset because you don't start at level 5 and get a single weapon and armor set with an imported save?

The sad thing is you literally get two free summons for importing a save, which is basically as much as you got in most of the games listed.

FFVII Remake obviously didn't cap out Cloud and the party to save stuff for later. That alone should make it rather obvious what the intent was going to be.

By the time I play this it'll be 3-4 years since I played the first game. I don't fucking remember everything about the mechanics or how I played. It would be a ridiculous expectation to have on players. Assuming I still play it on PlayStation anyway. What about new players who have no idea what any of these endgame terms mean?

Then you've got the typical loop of an RPG is earning new spells and weapons. If you want to start off the game with all of the top tier spells and weapons where does it go from there? Do we start a whole new tier where random forest creatures now shrug off Firaga and you need to earn Firagalama to kill them one hit? Some bandit is now more powerful than Sephiroth in the first game?

It's like one of those things people want and ask for but don't actually think about how it would work.

Funnily enough it came flooding back to me that this was also a complaint for Mass Effect 2 back in the day because Bioware said your Shepard will carry across the trilogy.
