They made a Doc Ock manga where he's isekai'd and becomes a middle school girl, I don't think we'd want to see what would happen to Wolverine or the other X-men.

Just look at your own thread, it's the fourth post, then if you don't believe him use a search engine and pick your own source. Then you can also look up how much a theater will take (which I'll give you a hint, it's easier to say 50%)

The whole thing is simple math, if you're spending $390 million on a film all in, and you're collecting your box office at a rate of maybe 50% on average due to it being an international release. This means you'd need to make somewhere to the tune of $800 million.
If it was only $240 million it would be $500 million-ish to breakeven.

That's nice but the budget wasn't 390 million. It's 250 million.

It had an additional $140 million for its marketing, in addition to god knows what they probably actually spent. Therefore the actual money tied up is not $250 million.

The rule of thumb I always heard was <1.5x is a bomb, >1.5x is a success.

Obviously that's just with a generic movie and doesn't count if you have something that's supposed to be "free" money. Things intended to be blockbusters also tend to have more marketing costs than usual, so that can definitely move the target.

The ratio is kind of messy from my understanding, but generally 50% of profits are taken by the theater hence the need to double their money. Though that isn't the case for all regions such as China, where they take 75% from what I've heard.

This wouldn't be a problem though if their merchandise moved like crazy, but it doesn't, especially when even films that made a billion have trouble with the merch.

Atelier Ryza is off to a good start.

It's alright, but they changed Lila's character design to give her more human hands instead of looking more like the hands of a werewolf. She's also looking' too skinny..

But yes I agree that budgets are too high and it wasn't a huge success; it being not a huge failure but underperforming still was part of the premise of the topic. That and movies needing to make way too much money not to underpreform thanks to ballooning budgets.

I doubt you'll be too in love with it. Splash Star really is just a poor man's Futari wa Pretty Cure when it comes to the duo, there are some differences but they're basically carbon copies down to Saki's love interest (which I will add is even lazier writing because they did away with the possibility of him being in love with Mai, since he's her sister as opposed to a childhood friend.)
Hell, I dare say it's an ever poorer man's version of Tropical Rouge due to the setting.

I thought they looked familiar, I just sort of glanced at the thread on /A/, I didn't realize they're doing some sort of All Stars thing with the series.

Splash Star is fine, people say it's one of the worst in the series but it's honestly just a lower budget more coastal version of the original Precure series.

Which is weird, both Splash Star and Healin' Good are considered two of the worst precures, but I've sat through them without having to come back months (or in Heartcatch's case literal years) later to finish them.
I guess they're more turn your brain off fun to watch, as opposed to the better seasons where I can actually legitimately enjoy the characters and their interactions with eachother.

I think I'll watch Yes 5 next after I finish the last half of Huggto, since the sequel is slated for later this year instead of next year. Though Yes 5 is stupidly long so I probably won't finish it by the time it gets released.

Nobody wants Ezra back

Being stuck in a timeline with George Clooney as Batman is a fitting end for Ezra Miller's Flash. The two worst actors for their respective characters being stuck together, with almost no chance of a sequel to get him out of such a horrible fate.

SSSS.Gridman is also pretty good, it's a sequel to an old live action series of the same name but you don't really need to watch the original to watch the anime. It just gives some nods here and there in reference.

Cromartie High, it's just hilarious and the dub has its own charm.

Samurai Champloo, Both Champloo and Bebop are basically the Japanese Boondocks, they've heavily influenced parts of the Boondocks, mainly the art style and action.

They did the same thing with Persona 5 Royal's release on PC, it didn't say steam until later.

I mean it is the first trailer and they do have an HD model made for the dancing spin-offs iirc. So I'd say there is a fair chance assuming they don't feel lazy about the second set of confidants included with femc.

It seems a bit early to call it dead when it hasn't even been out for two weeks though.

The growing competition and the fact that the film is over two hours long is why it's projected to flop right now, it's just a matter of how much.

That was explained why the had a 4th quarter loss back then.

They lost a ton of subscriptions because they stopped carrying cricket in India.

1st quarter 2023 turned a profit.

It was also dirt cheap for Disney+ iirc in India. So it's not as big of a deal as they made it out to be.

Beauty and the Beast was, but it also had big name actors like Emma Watson and a source that sort of fit the Zack Snyder asthetic the film has.
