TopicWhy is Metroid Prime soooo confusing?

I found the first two Metroid Primes incredibly frustrating growing up too. They are both incredibly games, but some of the platforming, the bosses, and the "where the hell do I go now" needed some tightening even at release. It has been years, but I seem to recall there being a problem with the save rooms being too far from bosses as well?

Glasses >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all
I'm 99% sure there is a glasses accessory that I slapped on Alette at some point to make her perfect. Not sure when you can get it or if it's free, though. I similarly gave both Rinwell and Shione glasses when playing Tales of Arise.

I'm going to say Sophie 1 is better though because there's no Monika here
But there are boobs everywhere! Also, a better version of Plachta + Alette > Monika.

Didn't Thomas do basically no work for years? And besides, in what world is one of the most prestigious jobs paying over $100k with full benefits and a lifetime employment guarantee not worth it?

We believe that the best and most effective solution for protecting children and adults alike is to identify users by their device and allow access to age-restricted materials and websites based on that identification.
How about "no"? We don't currently live in a country that wants IDs for porn for the reasons they say they want them, nor do we live in one where the government will act responsibly even if they had good intentions (which again, they don't).

When videos of abusive behavior are displayed on social media, there are a few possible scenarios where extra information might matter.
  1. The behavior is being caused by factors beyond the abusers' control. For example, a person might start off nice but do a complete 180 and start acting out of character because of a brain tumor, early onset dementia, or a new brain medication that is causing behavioral issues. This guy is well known for being an ass and neither party has come forward with information like a medical diagnosis.
  2. What you are witnessing is reactive abuse. That is to say, the person in the video who appears to be on the receiving end of abusive statements is the actual instigator and has changed their behavior for a recording (or in the other cases, witnesses) in order to make the other person look unhinged when they are just having a breakdown over abuse. In this case, the guy is a known dick and has made no claims of being abused so this probably isn't either.
  3. The entire thing is fake drama for social media. This guy stands to lose both standing and money, and both he and his wife do seem to be getting a divorce. So this one is out too.

Honestly, I think the dude that is saying we need to wait and see is just being a dick because he is bored and wants attention. I typed that list out for the benefit of anyone who hasn't seen some of the tricks manipulative people use. I also think it's important to understand that abuse doesn't have to be the typical man versus woman thing. It certainly seems to be here, but it'd be nice if people could appreciate the broader spectrum of possibilities (and not be drawn away from them by a "concerned" "enlightened" troll).

It doesn't matter here because the guy is the problem, but too many people are unaware that a woman can be the abusive partner, friend, sibling, or parent. Again, that's not what's going on here, but this trolling is really pissing me off. I firmly stand against people abusing each other and I wish the broad spectrum of that were discussed more, and with more nuance.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I've noticed on social media that there is a lot of strangeness among the hugely pro-AI crowd. If you look, you'll find a ton of people who seemed to be convinced that we are mere months away from a fully sentient computer program or that AI will inevitably solve all of humankind's problems and soon. Any discussion about problematic aspects or limitations of existing technology is treated with extreme anger. A subset of these types of people include those that think that AI is giving them awesome abilities that they deserve (like people who pretend to have drawn the stuff that Stable Diffusion makes, or the guys referenced in the OP who think they can now bring the dead back to life) or will soon.

I think this is a function of two things: increased narcissism from social media itself, and the generally troubled state of the world. People are often think that they are "temporarily embarrassed millionaires" and that if only they work hard enough, study hard enough, or pray hard enough, they'll soon be living the good life they deserve. That doesn't mesh with reality. The COVID-19 pandemic was awful for the world and hugely increased the rates of stress and mental illness. Food prices are skyrocketing and housing is completely unaffordable for most people. Wealth inequality continues to rise. Healthcare in the US is unaffordable to most, and access to mental healthcare is poor. The war in Ukraine continues to rage, and there have been periodic alarming headlines about the interests of various countries. If you bother to follow politics all, you'll have noticed that civil liberties the world over seem to be on the chopping block and nobody with power is doing anything constructive. Climate change is kind of in your face lately too.

It's not a wonder that people want to believe something wonderful and transformative is about to occur that will give them real power over their lives and make everything great.
