This is actually true and a big problem in the MCU right now is that we have no idea where and who the Avengers are, and what is going on with the rest of the universe.

I've always enjoyed BCS more because I'm a legal nerd and I thought it was an easier watch and less stressful than BB.

I've noticed a lot of western developers are just terrible at compressing their games to a reasonable amount. It's really strange. I don't know why that isn't more of a priority now.

As a whole, an awful movie.

But if you take the first 15 minutes and last 15 minutes and remove the two hours in between, you have a really good ass movie.

I would say if you're interested in a visually outstanding vampire movie that is just a straight creature feature, check it out. Otherwise I guess you can wait.

Oh shoot I forgot about Renfield too. Loved that one as well. As far as strictly Dracula horror-horror goes, this was great. And the only thing I can think of that has done vampire horror nearly as well was a certain Netflix show I won't spoil.

I think they want a charismatic lead Dracula of old. Or some kind of romance. But even those are so played out.

I thought this was everything it needed to be though, but I think the marketing failed it a lot. Neither trailer I saw was really good, but the first trailer made me outright laugh out loud. I think a difficulty was not making it clear that yes this is Dracula Mr. Vampire Man, because not even the movie knows what to call him. The marketing on Twitter is the Twitter for this movie promoting Stephen King's Twitter review of it for God sake.

Man, I freaking likes The Last Voyager of Demeter a lot. Gorgeously haunting visuals, for sure. Great direction in this film overall. The guy who did The Autopsy of Jane Doe and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark did this too, so it made sense. Quality soundtrack too by Bear McReady.

It had a slow pacing to it, but man did it ever deliver on certain scenes. Just a very enjoyable film using the Dracula mythos. Really sad it's bombing critically and in the box office. It seems like critics with an interest in horror are giving it high praise but other people aren't.

I'd love to see more random Dracula movies in this style, in different settings. I also didn't get a vibe of it trying to kickstart a universe or anything, but it's certainly one of the better uses of Dracula in a long time. I think it's definitely worth watching for the direction alone.

Admittedly, I never actually finished Miles Morales, because I felt it was kind of lacking too.

However, on my newest playthrough of the original, I've somehow unlocked a new level of transcendence and am a total badass at combat in this game now, so I find it a lot more fun. Not sure what it was, but once I started to open up with more gadgets usage, I feel like I've just done so much better now.

All games are in the Mario canon, including spin-offs like Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Dance Dance Revolution, and especially Smash Bros.

My man. How did I know of anyone else here, you would feel my pain? Haha

I am currently replaying both Spider-Man games in anticipation of the next one... but maybe I can replay Alan Wake and the associated DLCs before it comes out too. But with Mortal Kombat 1 releasing soon too, that makes it hard!

And then if I want to play Super Mario Bros. Wonder, I'll have to play all of the other Mario games before that, which is going to be tough.

Why would they do this to me? One game is one of my favorite games based on my favorite superhero and the other is one of my favorite horror games I thought I'd never get a sequel for, but desperately wanted it for a long time.

Why?

Did they play Smashing Pumpkins in the film?

Geras is a rushdown grappler, but he has a ton of options and he looks so damn cool now. Basically, it's difficult to really lock him down from what it looks like. Struggles at far range though.

But like everything, you get a good Kameo and that can make up for his shortcomings. It's pretty much not really giving anyone actual weaknesses.

Ashrah looks so obnoxious. She has dash moves, a projectile that goes to the ceiling that can be spammed, and a few big combo extenders.

It seems like a bit too much honestly. Might be different in practice though.

Smoke is extremely mix up heavy. A lot of dashes and teleports. Should be interesting to play. But man, I just see them talk about Kameos and it seems like they just make this game completely busted. Maybe in a good way? We'll have to see.

But Smoke seems cool. Should be able to do some crazy things though.

Kombat Kast has been meh so far. They showed off how they create stages though, which was cool. Very interesting process.

But they're talking about the finals of MK11 like it was this epic instead of the boring one sided match it was. Lol

I'm seeing people I trust saying The Last Voyager of Demeter is great and a visual spectacle. Critic score is middling on it though.

Think I'm going to check it out this weekend though. I had my doubts at first when they showed Dracula and then Smashing Pumpkins starts with "The world is a vampire!" But they haven't used that in marketing since that first trailer and it looks good otherwise.

Not viewing Asguardians to be like those other aliens would be incredibly poignant commentary on how people perceive foreigners who look like them vs ones who don't tbqh. Whether intended or not, it's very easy to write it from here.

I was only half-joking with my post while making political commentsry, but yeah. They can do some poignant remarks.

But then the difference is that the Asgardians (aside from Loki) never tried to destroy the world. And that the Skrulls can look like humans instantly and blend in fine. And that somehow Asgardians could have a home on Earth no problem instantaneously but somehow they couldn't give a proper home to Skrulls on Earth.

So it's a bit clumsy if they want to implement that idea.

I mean you definitely see how I felt about it going into this. I was mostly going to have it on as background noise while I worked to laugh at how awful it was going to be.

I was completely astonished this was good. The marketing on this show was so bad. I promise it had to be nostalgia and word of mouth that carried it.

Regarding Jonathan Majors, the trial has been pushed back because his accuser has left the country, and they prosecution says they aren't ready to present their case.

It's feeling a lot like they simply don't have a strong enough case to propose now.

I'm still mostly enjoying the show, but I'm noticing a lot more jokes just aren't landing this season.

I normally don't play these sort of games, and I've never played the other Baldur's Gate games either. Is this an easy jumping on point?

I am completely floored this show is so popular. I did not expect them to do these streaming numbers.

It's absolutely getting a season 2. And it makes me feel really good about Based on a True Story as well!

Oh no my catching up on the MCU topic finally purged. I got to Spider-Man Homecoming, and we were trying to to go through Jessica Jones but kept getting pulled into watching other shows. The constantly depleting quality of the MCU overall made that project a lot less fun than it had been when I started though, admittedly.

I felt like I was really falling out of interest, but then Secret Invasion happened and it just completely sucked the rest of the wind out of my sails. And at this point, I'm going into every new MCU project just thinking "Please don't suck."

The movie frames it like it was significantly because of his vendetta Oppenheimer, but he had created a lot of enemies in the political sphere and he floundered pretty hard in the hearing. And he had already poisoned himself against the science community himself, regardless of Oppenheimer, though they were rather outraged by everything that Strauss had done to him too.

A large part of it was him constantly overstating his importance to the atomic bomb to the point he claimed to have been vital in convincing the President Truman to use it, to which the President wrote a letter that leaked stating that Strauss in no way was a part of his decision to use it.

He was just a nasty dude that made a ton of enemies.

I thought this was very clearly explained.

Strauss hated that Oppenheimer was being anti-weapon after building the bomb and had set him up to be humiliated at an event. But Oppenheimer turned it around and embarrassed Strauss. And then with the added reason that he felt that Oppenheimer was turning Einstein and the rest of the military science community against him.

But stripping him of his clearance meant that Oppenheimer wouldn't have as much access to spread his anti-weapon speeches, opening up for him and the other generals to have more influence. Apparently Strauss was a nasty dude in real life too.

Apparently Oppy's wife was actually completely unlikeable in real life. She comes across like she's kind of a mess, but she means well and is pretty likeable despite her being an obvious drunk. But from what I understand, everyone in Oppy's life really didn't like her, and apparently they toned her down from real life.

And apparently he didn't actually try to poison his teacher, and some people were a pretty upset by that.

It was also very unlikely that Oppy had ever asked Einstein for help prior to the creation of the bomb though.

I also hear that yes, they took liberties with the Strauss end of things for dramatic effect. There's some articles floating around that talk about what wasn't accurate to real life.

Looks like Orderrealm exists, but Chaosrealm does not. Havik is fighting against Orderrealm as one of its citizens and wants to bring about change to make it chaos. So basically, he's got Darius and Dairou's story now, except with more CHAOS.

But that's why I wanted it to be there! I imagine it'll be some kind of gear option.

The running idea is that Nitara will be in and will be the dark angel to Ashrah's light angel, which I think works out better than vampire lady. Gives both of them some needed depth.

Hope we get more out of Havik than just a jobber fella. I was sort of surprise they gave him no storyline focus in the trailer. But supposedly according to the extremely accurate leaks... He's supposed to be someone we already know that shifts during the story to this Havik. So it seems like they have SOME plan for him.

Reptile as a good boi was surprising. I would never have guessed that they would make him on the side of good, but maybe Liu Kang was like "Okay we're super sorry for making you ultra jobber, so you get to be a good fella this time around. Also, I don't remember if you're supposed to be a lizard or a human so... I dunno, you can be both."
