Only two characters worth anything in 4 movies were underutilized and killed off. (Well Brie Larson was great in Skull Island but I don't think they can reasonably bring her back for more movies since her character would be like 80 or something lol)

Whoa now. John C. Reilly was amazing in Kong. Just put a likable character in a plight that you want to see them get through, doesn't need to have much depth to it. Just don't make them cardboard cutouts like the GvK villains or the entire KotM cast (yes, Watanabe was also lackluster in it).
