I loved the SNES one as a kid. But never could beat it because of the lack of a save feature. Not even a password system. I don't know what they were thinking. Also that game had a few bugs that you could encounter that would prevent you from beating it from what I remember.

There are so so many reasons, but the most blatantly obvious one is that your digital collection is worth roughly the price of the console it's on. A physical collection will maintain most of its value, or even increase in value if you own mostly Nintendo titles.

The only reason to go digital is if you're willing to forfeit the value of your purchase in exchange for temporary convenience. To me that's not a great deal.

I was on several when I was a kid. I remember really enjoying them. Environmental reasons aside, I don't know why they get such a bad rep. I think a lot depends on which cruise line you go with. Some are obviously worse than others. And of course, it matters what destinations you're traveling to. But this was my experience like 20 years ago, so I don't know what they're like now.

I think because of the sheer volume, it has to be books. You're talking about several centuries of content, compared to just a few decades for the others.

I won $70 on one spin and never played again. Before that I only lost a few bucks here and there, so I can confidently say, I beat the house.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land has an entire amusement park world. I think it had a strong carnival flair to it.

Not with the current paradigm, which is to study examples of existing writing and recombine it to create something passable. Fundamentally, it can't create anything new or better than what already exists.

This is where I have my doubts. Just consider current chess AI. They're capable of identifying certain lines that no human could ever come up with, and that's because of their raw computational power. Think of how many hours a person has to invest to become an expert in something. A computer can completely eliminate that time component. I'm talking beyond writing here, but say we were trying to create a new kind of technology. Scientists would ordinarily have to resort to trial and error. But if an AI had a full understanding of physics (at least within the scope of what we understand) it could process millions of variations in just a brief moment.

So in some ways, I think future AI will be able to produce outputs that exceed human capability.

It looks inferior in every way. I've seen high school plays put on better performances than this. Another cash grab that didn't need to be made.

Yeah, it's out of control and sadly I don't see it getting any better. Since we haven't pulled a French Revolution yet, the corporations are just going to continue to bleed us dry, bit by bit.

BotW dethroned it in my view. But I'm getting endless enjoyment from OoT Randomizers. I've played through literally over 30 of them.

BotW was great in every way, except for the dungeons. They were considerably lackluster and the pallet-swap bosses were a huge letdown. Here's hoping that the sequel rectifies these issues.

OoT stays on top because it absolutely nails the dungeons in terms of atmosphere and design. TP or MM probably comes next.

I just can't believe this technology has come into existence so suddenly, at least to the public. And to think it's only in its infancy. But furthermore, the unsettling nature of it all is compounded by the fact that some years ago I wrote a novel where one of the subplots involved this kind of technology. The only difference was that it procured information not only from text, but also visual information, including human behaviors. As a result it could accurately predict real-world events. I thought I was writing science fiction. Not something that would be dated in just a few short years.

I just think back to what the internet was like in the mid-90s and can't believe how far it's come in just twenty-something years. I'm fascinated and terrified all at the same time.

Back in 2018. It was during the food festival at Epcot which was a delightful treat. On this trip we also set aside some time to go to some nice restaurants which I really enjoyed. Biggest bummer was that Test Track was closed.

That was...such an outrageously disproportionate response to what was absolutely nothing. I can't help but laugh at the irony that stems from these people who complain about everything and anything. All they do is give more exposure to the thing they're trying to boycott.

There are many reasons:

People rush into relationships and remain in them even if it's not working because the fear of being alone is too great.

Infidelity has been romanticized by Hollywood and entertainment media as a whole.

Social media has indoctrinated individuals with radical viewpoints that make compatibility with others difficult

People have grown more vain and entitled and are always looking out for "the new model".

A general decline in mental health makes it more difficult to resolve disputes and other petty quarrels. People will seek advice on social media rather than having face-to-face discussions with their partners.

And so forth and so on.

If you consider the diet and lifestyle of the average American, it's easy to see why healthcare isn't enough. You can only do so much for people who don't help themselves.

I think the only aspect of this that is concerning is how an entire industry just got flipped on its head overnight. I mean, what are aspiring artists supposed to do now? If governments decide that AI art doesn't infringe on copyright law, you know corporations are going to utilize it over paying the salary of an artist. As it stands, this is just another example of how machines are making humans obsolete. Many jobs are going to disappear, and it may not be a major problem today, but in the not-so-distant future, it will be. We need to start planning for this accordingly.

I think it's always offensive. Basically, any time I say something politically incorrect, which is always an ever-growing list. It gets harder to communicate every day.

What a piece of shit. Imagine if this guy ever tried to use a valet service. I know I'm being a broken record by saying this, but this country has a severe mental health issue. It's not even about gun violence. That's just a symptom. It is in fact possible to be a responsible gun owner. The issue is you just have too many people out there that are completely deranged and statistically some of them are going to get a hold of guns. And even if you tighten up gun control, you're still going to have a ton of people roaming around with an inclination for violence. You still have knives, blunt instruments, and vehicles. They'll still find a way. Personally, I believe this is all a result of the ever-increasing economic inequality gap. There's just too many people in this country that are in financial ruin and have a "I got nothing to lose" mindset. I mean, how often do millionaires go on killing sprees?

Sadly this is an issue that will never be rectified because it would require the rich to relinquish their financial grasp on the world. Things are only going to get worse.

I'd imagine anything that was a robot would be immune? Guess there's no way to know for sure how Middle Earth's magic interacts with machines.

I've always fantasized about seeing new releases built around the limitations of old hardware. DKC is one I would love to see, and a new Zelda on N64 is another. I think sometimes the old aesthetic has a charm that you can't recreate with modern graphics.

I think I'm due for a rewatch. Saw it several years back on Netflix for the first time and thought it was amazing. I want to try and forget as much as possible so it can feel like a new experience.

I've always loved Metalgreymon. Not sure where I would keep him though...
