Italian Mickey Mouse comics can be quite weird i don't know how good they are though...

this is pretty great if you just imagine it as the end of the story tbh

old school mickey could be snarky and mischievous, not on the same level as bugs bunny but it was still there. they toned it down over the years though, seems like these days he's mostly relegated to being a fairly flat character mostly for young children. sort of what you said, but also depends on what they're using him in.

i think i played vanguard the very first time i played through the game and wasn't a huge fan of it. i might have to give it another chance.

to be fair on the other thing, i decided to start an insanity run with a dudeshep soldier, and listening to his voice again it definitely feels flatter than i remembered. there have been a few times where i just kinda started giggling at how genuinely inappropriate some of his responses come off. honestly, they both pale in comparison to most of the supporting cast either way.

i almost recommended earthbound, but held off on it. ecco the dolphin was real pretty to roam around in too, but the difficulty stopped me from bringing it up.

i'll suggest earthworm jim or the neverhood here though. torchlight might also be good, i remember it being pretty.
