Oh I apologize. I misspoke. I meant to say Xbox hasn't had anything worth playing for the past decade with the exception of Ori and Forza Horizons. Imagine having the backing of a trillion dollar company and still have worse game output than a literal dysfunctional publisher like Square Enix who managed to dump out dozens of quality games in a weak decade like the 2010s.

It's because Xbox at this point has started to piss off their fanbase so any doom and gloom will easily get blown into exaggeration. Microsoft does have a huge problem with their management of their gaming division. They had literally zero games worth playing for the past TWO years AND their flagship iconic franchise missed the launch of their new consoles. Can you imagine Nintendo launching any console without a Mario or Zelda game for a whole year?

Microsoft backed off their 360 ways when they bought studios and forced them to pump out games, which resulted in personnel leaving. So their current solution is to just baby their developers and let them make whatever they want. If I was Phil Spencer I would have told Todd Howard to put everything on hold and put out TES6 by 2024 and Fallout 5 by 2026 as soon as the ink dried on their Zenimax deal. It's so fucking stupid. Why is Arkane making Redfall? Should have told them to work on Dishonored 3 immediately.

It's only been something like 20 chapters since the end of Wano and the pacing has sped up even more recently. Egghead has been excellent. Though I do wonder if Oda's health might be in question since he's been taking breaks very frequently now. Almost two weeks off every other month while he times them with WSJ breaks so they've been painful.

I live reasonably close to one and get some stuff from there, mostly peripherals or if I need something quick and don't want to wait/pay for shipping. However, I wouldn't say it's "most" of my stuff, especially because I built a new computer late last year and bought zero of the parts there (unless you count a DVI->DisplayPort adapter)

It's actually season 3. I think The Chinese Restaurant is the only episode from the first two seasons typically held up as a classic.

I think I know why I thought that episode was early Seinfeld. It's because it had that season 1 orange glint.

I don't remember the seasons but I do remember individual episodes. I think the parking garage episode was in one of the first two seasons. Jerry urinating and getting caught is the highlight of those two seasons.

The show improves dramatically when more and more side characters get introduced.

Finished up a couple of movies, not sure if I talked about them before

Heaven's Feel 1-3 was about as good as I remember from the VN. They showed more of the risque stuff than I remember UBW showing. Maybe because it's a movie so it's rated differently.

Code Geass recap 1-3 was a waste of time. Mostly a refresher to prep me for that Resurrection movie.

Weathering with You was ugh. It had very conflicting messaging. And some unintentionally hilarious deux ex machina stuff happening. First off the movie tell you to fuck the adults just live life your way and don't feel bad about how the adults fucked up the world but then in the end the main pair was like welp we gotta live with our choices of not fixing the problems for OUR future because it's NOT OUR fault. Like huh? And now for the unintentionally hilarious scene. The MC picks up a yakuza gun early in the movie and loses it halfway through the movie. He gets chased to the final scene in the movie, which happens to be an abandoned building, gets tackled to the ground, rolls away from the cops during his escape and MAGICALLY finds another gun on the ground so he can create pretension for the cops to have an excuse to shoot at him. I don't know how this shit even works.

There comes a point in every vet's career where he just doesn't want to spend offseason with the team. I don't know the quality of the WRs Rodgers got in camp last year but I do know Brady's last few years in NE he spent his time banging his head against the wall trying to work with a bunch of WR3s and eventually got fed up and took days off. Then with the Bucs he had motivation to work with his new WRs because they weren't dogshit. He obviously had to deal with a divorce in his last year so I'm going to give him a pass there.

Rodgers doesn't care about anybody but himself. If he really cared about mentoring he would have been at the offseason program last year to help the rookie receivers get used to what he wanted them to do.

As a fan I want my franchise QB be more selfless and mentor his successor. But as someone that's been in a similar situation (not NFL QB) I absolutely agree with vets like Brady/Rodgers/Favre that their job isn't to train someone to take their job. Fuck that, you gotta look out for yourself.

Speaking of timing, caught up on Choujin X now and it's probably the best timing I could have dreamed for, with a timeskip and new arc starting literally this week. It's certainly not on Tokyo Ghoul's level yet, but it could get there.

I have no problem with the first tweet since 90% of FF mini games are terrible and Blitzball itself is the spawn of Satan only enjoyed by serial killers. Honestly I can't even think of a mini game in any JRPG ever that I have really enjoyed. Even my favorite games have stuff locked behind having to play an awful mini game and it annoys me more than it should.

The first blitzball match is literal spawn of satan material. The CPU cheats with boosted stats for all their players. You only stand a chance of winning IF you get lucky RNG or by cheesing. The regular blitzball game is great.

Now the guy who made drunk chocobo racing and lightning dodging needs to have his entire bloodline wiped from the multiverse.

Has JJK been dropping in WSJ weekly rankings? I agree with both of you on the last few chapters. In fact this manga has kinda gone down hill after Gojou got locked up. I think the problem with JJK manifested when the author introduced a ton of characters but not power structure. Like we know Six Eyes and Limitless are broken but everything else shown has been "this is stronger because I used more cursed energy". Like Okkotsu was this immensely hyped fighter and it turns out he just has insane levels of cursed energy. And even the guys he fought only stood up to him because you guess it they had comparable levels of cursed energy. Don't get me started on why the author is hyping up Megumi with his shitty summoning techniques. He said someone with Megumi's powers rivaled the last person with Limitless and Six Eyes. I find that hard to imagine.

We still have a few years of chapters left so hopefully it all sorts out but from the pacing it's not looking like the author really knows what he's doing. This was my favorite WSJ series when I picked it up in 2021 it's a shame it has fallen to this state.

Microsoft has nobody but themselves to blame. When they bought Zenimax they gave verbal assurances that their catalog were not going to be made exclusive to Xbox ecosystem and then immediately reneged on this by making their shitty Starfield game exclusive. Now they are paying the price of that.

I've watched episode 0, aka the prologue. It's not some complex nuanced character piece.

Gundams and AI are designed to help humans adapt to space. The tech is new and dangerous, Prospera loses limbs due to experimentation. Space companies ban Gundam research then destroy Prospera's lab and she loses everything she loves. Very complex character. I wonder what her motivation would be throughout the first cour...? Revenge maybe? Hmmmm... we are in need of Herlock Sholmes' great deduction here.

Yeah "Prospera is the villain" is definitely what I was talking about. Nothing to do with the true nature of Suletta and Ericht and whether they're actually the same person, nothing to do with the truth of the AI in Aeriel and whether it's actively conscious or contains a human soul, nothing to do with the true nature of her relationship with Suletta what kind of conditioning and potential trigger words she's laced in there that were hinted throughout the show. No, me and my Discord group spent and entire season of anime trying to nail down if Prospera was "sus".

Let's be honest here. That's the only reason you're pumping WfM stock. Throw in a little yuri and you're going to put it in anime of the decade category.

00 is straight up Gundam homage after Gundam homage. But since it's "just Gundam" then it's bad. But as soon as any Gundam deviates from the norm, like G Gundam or IBO, suddenly they are the best thing since bread sliced while Henry Ford is driving the first Model T on top of the Wright Flyer I.

It's like coming out of the theater after watching The Two Towers and proudly proclaiming that Grima Wormtongue is giving off some bad vibes. Geez I wonder if he's earnestly working for Theoden or serving someone else...

There's no subtle foreshadowing for Prospera's character. It's fucking blatant. You're not some genius that figured anything out. The problem lies in the fact that there's no payoff other than "wow she finally showed her true self".

What do we know about this Char clone? You're literally nitpicking that we don't know anything about any of the characters in 00 because you're literally at the start of all four main character arcs. Why don't the four pilots know anything about each other? Because their organization is structured in a way to compartmentalize the pilots in case they get captured. Are you mad that you don't know anything about the magical green particles emitting from the backs of the Gundams too?

Where's your energy for shitting on characters when we know 0% about Prospera. Or how about we know nothing about Suletta or Miorene until the last two episodes of the first cour? WfM is a "character driven" story yet it fails at that. You learn so much more about the four pilots and their rivals in the first five episodes than WfM's two main leads in 12.

The first few episode of 00 world building is so good because you're essentially seeing the world through Louise and Saji Crossroado's eyes. War is such a foreign concept to them, they are basically living in a first world real life country and going about their daily lives. The concept of economic blocs and how the world is split apart along the solar elevators is simply fascinating. This was such a cool concept back in 2007. Gundam 00 is the swan song of the mecha genre. Eureka 7 > Code Geass > TTGL > 00. After this stretch of shows the genre is basically dead with the occasional Sunrise treat every few years.

There won't be fan backlash if they stick to source material. There's no pitfall for lifting as much from the source as possible. Nobody gave Game of Thrones shit for almost going line for line during the first 4 seasons. The people that will watch these anime adaptions are 100% going to be fans of the manga/anime. Look at all those Resident Evil and Halo adaptions. They actively hate the source material so fans end up not watching. Who the fuck going to watch that cringe shit? I liked the complete tonal shift of the finale. Sunrise seems set on this being two seasons so only 12 or 13 more episodes left. I think long time Gundam fans were waiting for something to happen because honestly nothing really happened in the previous 11. Well here we are. At least something happened. I guess the people that got yuribaited into this aren't having a good time. The current reaction to the episode is probably what happened in a certain other Sunrise anime with a certain Eleven-hating princess.
