It's inevitable when you watch TYT videos about Greta Thunberg pwning him or whatever, that's how association-based algorithms work. If their ideas are so powerful that a flash of them in the pan is enough to radicalize 16-year-olds then yeah maybe the left should improve its messaging.

Are their ideas powerful, or are they backed by billions of dollars that are inaccessible to the left?

To phrase my questions another way: how much left-wing rhetoric are teenaged boys in rural Alabama being exposed to? What filters does it go through before reaching them, if it does? Is it a driving factor in those kids having politics that aren't really that different from their parents'?

Is the problem really left wing messaging, or might there be something to be said for the amount of money spent promoting right wing ideas by people who it'll financially benefit? Are 16 year olds posting that women belong in the kitchen (to the extent that they are) because the left has pushed them away? Or because they can't make five clicks on Youtube without Ben Shapiro winding up in their algorithm?

"Flaws" here is a shorthand for the things you wish might be different about them, without necessarily being objectively bad, if that makes sense. Pobody's nerfect.
