murder is auto lwop. there will be a sentencing hearing but there isn't any sentencing discretion on the murder charge

guilty on everything.

case was super complex, how the jury could come back in barely over two hours is puzzling. wild the judge dismissed the only juror apparently for the defense narrative after that juror had been interviewed by a sled agent that was a witness in the case.

there will be plenty of grounds for appeal but those rarely pan out.

verdict has been reached but hasn't gone live yet. almost certainly guilty if they are back this quickly

the prosecution gets a rebuttal for everything from the defense case to the closing. it is in theory because the state has the burden of proof that they get to go last but in practice it seems to work in their favor of getting the last word.

also the defense wanted to split the closing among the two main lawyers but the judge wouldn't allow it, for some reason the prosecution got to use two of their million lawyers for the closing and the rebuttal

was not impressed with the defense closing from griffin. he hit the points he needed to but it wasn't structured well or cohesive. i thought he finished strong but overall it wasn't great.

meadors is doing the rebuttal and he is just rambling and not talking about any facts at all. not impressed with his 'rebuttal' at all.

the defense went and now the prosecution is doing its rebuttal and then it goes to the jury

defense closing arguments started now. another juror got excused and apparently she was interviewed by sled and specifically by a witness in this very case which seems highly unethical and another good issue on a possible appeal.

overall i think waters ended up doing a pretty good job with his closing. defense closing is first thing tomorrow and it will need to be really good to prevent a guilty verdict imo

this. it is a fantastic game. obv disc two was underwhelming but the story was so good overall.

they are on lunch break but should be back in like 30-40 min or less. the first part of waters closing really didn't wow me but i would assume he gets into the timeline at some point which is the most important part of the case.

currently the state is giving its closing argument and the defense will follow before the state finishes. after that jury deliberation and possibly a decision by tomorrow or friday

Okay I know this is a dumb and nitpicky thing but the way they pronounce Alex as Elec in the docuseries is seriously annoying me for some reason.

Not trying to detract from the seriousness of the crimes/trial. Just something I needed to get off my chest I guess lol

idk why but his friends and family call him 'elec' or 'alec' and i don't understand why at all.

anyway, the defense rested today. i don't think the state had a great case and don't think they presented what they had particularly well. i think there is a good chance he was involved in the murders but based on the timeline the state presented idk how he could possibly be the sole shooter like they contend. i am expecting a guilty verdict or a hung jury but personally i would have to go not guilty if i was on that jury.

murdaugh is a scumbag who will likely die in prison based on the financial crimes alone, but i really don't think the state did a good job of saying he is the one and only shooter.

that is really shitty considering he had just taken a urine test earlier that day anyway. the nba is dumb af for that.
