1. Why was your day bad?

2. Why was your month great?

3. Did you get anything fun for Xmas?
1) Already answered!

2) Partially answered! I also got an A- in my class, have plans to meet up with three classmates for drinks in the near future (including the one I mentioned before), grew closer to my girlfriend (in many ways, not just the one), got some cool earrings (that I can't wear quite yet because my ear holes need more time), including a pair my girlfriend straight-up made for me. She also got me a mirror for applying makeup, and scrawled on the box, "Because you're beautiful. And you need to see it." I did some good eating and drinking, and feel I've grown very close with the enby coworker (the one that I mentioned before. There's also an enby in Dairy who is also an amazing person).

3) Woops, rambled and answered that above.

How do you deal when you get panic attacks?
It helps to have a little privacy, but that's not always feasible. I just try to close my eyes, and focus on my breathing. In, out, nice and steady and slow. Try to bring to mind good, calming things (a warm cup of tea in my room, a walk with the girlfriend, a chill hangout, a satisfying hike, etc.)

And remember: there are no tigers. Unless you're in India, Southeast Asia, or Siberia, then tigers may well be a legitimate concern.

I gotta say, I did not see this answer coming lol. Honestly, Im jealous of the moment. Cause I know exactly what you're talking about. I also like all the flirty build up instead of just rushing things. Sounds like a fun night to remember. I need to get out more again and open up my door to opportunities. I want those experiences again >_<.
She's very playful, but I don't think she has any interest in sex, likely due to her various health problems.

Which isn't a problem, because we're ethically poly. In fact, she literally encouraged me to get with a classmate (who happens to look a bit like Courtney Barnett, who is extremely hot, FYI) and I joked that if I had sex with her she would want me to tell her every detail.

Because she totally would, the fucking weirdo that she is. And I would tell her, because I tell her everything. To the extent that my enby coworker, before talking about their latest drama a while back, went, "And it's okay to tell your girlfriend, I just kind of assume I'm confiding in both of you."

What was the best thing that happened this month for you?
Hmm. Probably playing show-and-tell with my girlfriend.

It was more of a "show" than "tell", if you catch my drift. She was wondering if I needed panties, and asked if maybe I would like the ones she had gotten. Rather than go upstairs and get one, she just pulled down her pants and showed them to me. They were nice blue boyshorts.

They were also sheer.

Then I showed her my panties, then she wanted to see my bra, so I showed her that too, and she came over to touch the fabric and "accidentally" brushed my tit. Then she showed me her bra.

Then she just goes, "I might as well just show you my titty" and legit popped a boob out. I admired it for a few moments, then realized I couldn't let this stand, even though I didn't want to take my shirt off *again*. So I popped out my titty, and she spent the next five minutes gushing about how big and perfect it was.
That does great things for a girl's ego.

You got it mixed up: I had a bad day. I work customer service, and customers were extra extra today. And I didn't sleep well. And it was one of my young friends' last day, so it was emotionally draining. I'm glad she got out, of course.

There's a reason why the Soviet union collapsed
Because all the Russian revolution did was replace the old ruling class with a new one? The whole point is to empower workers via democracy, something that fell by the wayside early on in favor of Stalinist totalitarianism.

Totalitarianism doesn't work and capitalism has, is, and will kill us too.

Yeah, IIRC the draft bill banning transition care for minors nationally (including surgeries, basically aren't done on minors) had a carve-out protecting "correcting" the genitalia of intersex infants.
Because of course it did! This is all about maintaining the patriarchal gender divide as inviolable, after all.

But, seriously, it's been dead obvious for a while now that Musk A) hates trans people in general and trans women in particular and B) loves fascism. He undoubtedly sees his trans daughter as a "victim" of the insidious trans agenda.
To say nothing of how he must feel about Grimes getting with Chelsea Manning.

House wasn't a sociopath, he was just bitter and abrasive. In the end, he definitely cared about people. He cared so much about Wilson that he torched his entire career and faked his death just to ensure he could spend time with his friend in the last months of Wilson's life. That's absolutely not sociopath behavior.
Yeah, it's actually an ending that represents a lot of growth for House. He's finally consciously and purposefully putting some one else first, albeit in the most melodramatically House way possible.

It's why I like the ending, its (many) shortcomings aside.

The show got real weird after Kal Penn left. Lisa Edelstein refusing to come back for Season 8 also wrote the plot into an impossible corner.
Didn't she want a raise and they wouldn't give it to her? IIRC, Fox progressively cut the show's budget, which is why House and friends increasingly seem to work in a hospital alone.

Exactly.

The only thing this sort of discussion furthers is to try to lessen the perceived severity of any marginalisation a certain group experiences.

Its essentially should A shut up, because at least theyre not B?
Basically, because it is casting the two groups as though their interests are pitted against one another even though there's significant overlap in their population and concerns.

It's also why I called out using the spectrum here, because not everyone on the LGBTQ+ spectrum has the same experiences: it's more an aspirational goal towards solidarity than actual solidarity, unfortunately.

Inclusivity for the L and the G, sure, it's better. Maybe even the B, but not the T. Obvious if you've been paying attention. These groupings have been in different boats for a long time now, and many/most LGBTQ+ orgs represent the first two letters and only pay lip service to the rest.

Of course, I'm not saying neurodivergent people have it very good either. My best work friend is an obviously ND enby who has tics (particularly set off by cold. Did I mention they're skinny and likely have some kind of digestive issue?) that they're really terrified of people seeing because society judges that kind of thing harshly. They're relatively innocent, even: spontaneously clapping, irregular eye/neck movement, punching the air in front of them (they're pretty weak). But still...

I don't play Misery Olympics. Especially because there's a good deal of overlap between neurodivergent and trans people.

Intersectionality is also vital here: it's silly to treat real lived experiences as though they're hermetically sealed off from one another, or other factors such as race and economic class.

I ate a lot of food, got some good makeup, a big ass scarf, and some mittens with a flap so I can have my fingers covered or exposed.
Spent the afternoon chilling in the living room with my sister and my cousin, just chilling and chit-chatting. Very chill and relaxing, and I got to do it en femme for the first time ever.
Most comfy I've ever been!

Also after dinner my uncle was ranting about mysterious lost civilizations and humans and dinosaurs co-existing. And my mom was really angry about maternity leave because she didn't get any back in the '80s and for some reason took the exact wrong lesson from that. Ughhh..

And I feel bad for my girlfriend, who didn't feel comfortable coming (she's immunocompromised) and was basically alone because her daughter is with Dad. She's thinking her daughter should stay there because she's had an uptick in health issues lately. Hopefully this doctor she's seeing January 6th will help her...

Oh yeah! I also dropped in on Z's livestream briefly, felt personally attacked by her improvised jazz piano song about practicing voice lessons on Christmas, listened for a while, but then broke out her guitar and she's not that great, so I bounced to do a little voice training for the first time in forever.

The Empire is an authoritarian power structure, and the only legitimate authority is the Emperor's. He mostly seems to have empowered a legion of petty administrators (the moffs) to administer things, but they are accountable only to the Emperor, not the people: plenty of them, I'm sure, were abusive shits more concerned with enriching themselves and/or furthering their careers than the welfare of their subjects. Individual planets likely continued to enjoy some degree of autonomy: the Empire is simply far too big to administer everything directly. Importantly, the only one with anything approaching a legitimate claim to being the Emperor's successor is Darth Vader.

Although Palpatine is a savvy political operator who is popular (and likely remained so, to an extent) and no doubt used a number of clever means to enhance his reputation and suppress dissent off-screen, it's very clear that there is *a lot* of dissent, including from prominent political figures like Bail Organa. Perhaps it was initially centered on Alderaan. Anyway, they blow up Alderaan, and that was a huge unforced error: before that, the Emperor could easily cast himself as a reformer, a populist who seized power merely in a time of crisis to clear out the rot of the Republic, but after that, the only thing that kept anyone in line would have been fear. The Death Star was potent symbol of that fear, and no doubt an incredibly expensive one: its destruction was a massive blow not only to the Empire's military capability, but also its prestige and legitimacy. If you're relying on fear to keep your subjects in line and the Rebellion blows up your planet-destroying laser, you're going to have a bad time!

That's why the Empire immediately starts construction on a new one: it was their only avenue left to keep people in line. When that one gets blown up, with both the Emperor and Vader, the entirety of the Empire's legitimacy was blown up with it. This would have immediately fractured the surviving Imperial forces amongst the countless moffs, while also providing a huge boost in prestige, legitimacy, and visibility for the Rebellion. Likely plenty of Imperials would have thrown in with them, and then it becomes a matter of mop-up. Again: the territory of the New Republic is so vast it's impossible to watch the whole thing closely, and what's to worry about some crackpot on the fringes consolidating Imperial remnants into something called The First Order, anyway?

Damage sponge bosses always fucking suck. A boss fight should be tense and dangerous: it shouldn't be learning a pattern and then repeating the same actions for 10-15 minutes. Once you've "solved" a boss, beating it should be a relatively painless process.

Russia has no shortage of dudes, but they *do* have a shortage of dissidents to pull out of prison and throw into the wood chipper and minority dudes from remote areas the Russian metropole doesn't give a damn about.

Their problem is more that expanding their army will require them to draft more ethnic Russians from in and around St. Petersburg and Moscow to a fight a war that cannot be formally opposed but for which there is nonetheless waning enthusiasm. This is quite a bit more fraught politically, obviously.

The second problem is that they have so far done a wretched job of training and equipping their "mobiks". Pretty sure I've heard that Wagner has been using them basically as fodder at Bahkmut.

I am, though thanks to how my family does gifts, I only bought for one (my Dad, who gave only the most boring gift ideas).

For him, I bought a $25 Amazon gift card.

For my work secret Santa, got my Assistant Team Leader. He's a big coffee drinker and has a macabre sense of humor, so I got him a tall coffee mug with a smiling, coffee-drinking skeleton on it, with the caption "Staying Alive", which ought to get a laugh out of him.

And, for my girlfriend, I got two gifts, because her birthday is tomorrow. They're all candles: 4 Mrs. Meyers' candles (2 peppermint, 1 rain, and 1 pine) for Christmas and a Homesick Mississippi candle for her birthday. She already received the latter and she loves it.

Also she said is smells like a hot sex party, which...I don't think it actually smells like that, but may her dreams come true...

What about you CE? You got your shopping all wrapped up? Get any gifts yet?

Ninhursag is even crazier imo
Niiiiice.
I went to brewery in Oregon called Ninkasi. Sadly no Sumerian symbolism or beer names/styles, but they do have a fucking triceratops statue and a triple-hopped IPA called Tricerahops.

You know what, Ezra sounds pretty cool I agree. I'm going to advocate for that.

I kinda wanted to do Sumerian gods:

Girl: Innana
Boy: Enlil / Enki

Ezra seems to be catching on in the US
Sumerian gods have cool names.

Just don't use Ningirsu, that's such a weird mouthful.

Mastema.
Strange Journey sucked, but Lucifer mocking Mastema for bowing and scraping and begging for God's forgiveness even though he got kicked out too almost made that game worthwhile for me.

I got my girlfriend a Mississippi candle from Homesick, since she grew up in Jackson, and she fucking loved it. She spent a good five minutes gushing about it via text, and ended on this: It smells like a hot sex party and, I, um, oh my, hehe

Euphoria, for me. Season 2 released beginning of this year.

Zendaya is a goddess. A great, gorgeous, and terrible one.
