We spent two decades fighting in Afghanistan under false pretenses, then Trump forfeited the war as a political fuck you to Biden. It's not possible for the US to win a war under the current circumstances because war is treated as a capitalist enterprise. Winning a war would be like ending a lucrative film series. The only thing that makes sense is to drag it out indefinitely. And so when the powers that be have made all the money they're going to make, all that's left to do is go home with a mark in the L column and remind everyone that we're still back-to-back World War champions. Coming from someone with nothing but respect for soldiers, you're dying for nothing if you enlist in the US army under the current system. We cannot win until we've gotten rid of the war profiteers and the politicians who hate the other domestic political parties more than they hate international adversaries. |

Like, Falcone from the first film could have been named Oswald Cobblepot, with Bruce Wayne calling him a Penguin as a verbal dig, and nothing would have changed. |

He's a director who saw an opportunity in adapting a popular character to the screen. By the third film, he was ready to move on. I get that you can't have Batman Begins followed by Batman Ends. The third movie had to be made. But I can't blame Christopher Nolan for being over it by that point. In any event, it was inevitable that Batman movies would experience a drop in quality. We're lucky to have gone from The Dark Knight to The Dark Knight Rises instead of directly to Batman v Superman. |

They copied a bunch of foreign comics and old film serials, made stuff up as they went along, and still created one of the most memorable trilogies of all time. <_< |

Most scenes are intact in the shortened version of the film, but the camera lingers much longer in the extended version. The best example I can think of is a scene in which Federer walks down a ramp. In the extended version, we see him walk down the entire ramp. In the shortened version, we only see him turn the curve. There is a subplot involving a henchman, a garden scene, and a redlight district scene where are cut entirely though. There was also a fight scene that was cut, and which remains missing, but the film is better for it. The wrong participant was to have won and it's inclusion would have hindered the film rather than helped it. |
